I Know That This Is A Bit Cliche For A Player To Ask, But...

I know that there are a lot of plat+ players in these boards, and I was just wondering, Is there really any tip or trick to winning games in Silver?

I was recently demoted to Silver 5, and my first game in this tier, I played fizz mid. I did rarely well for my level of understanding of the game, and I even got a quadra kill in that game. But we still ended up losing. I bought the upgraded trinkets, I bought items according to my lane opponent, who was in fact Ziggs. And my team, overall did well. But we still ended up losing.

And even in the game I played before I was demoted to silver 5, I went Ryze top against a Riven. I know I didn't do well, against her, because I don't do top that well, but we ended up losing that one because we had a Vayne who thought she needed to 1 v 3 the Baron buffed fed enemy team, and typed "GG please end" in all chat when she dieded, rightfully so.

TL;DR This is a question to the higher ranked players; is there a way to win in Silver?

watch some videos, upgrade trinkets, learn to last hit better, look at that mini map often, don't yell at teammates, be supportive, learn to support so you always have a role to play. Those are the ones that I used

FARM!!!

That Fizz game, you only barely broke 100 cs. You must farm. Kills are no substitute for cs. Playing much higher priority on farm will give you the early gold lead that you need to do everything better.

Also, buy boots. I had to recommend this to someone else last week. You can't not have boots. There isn't a single champion who doesn't need them. At minimum, you should have basic boots when you finish your first item. Without boots, everything in the game becomes more difficult.

And finally, there will be games that you couldn't have won. Don't sweat those. If you do well in lane and also post-lane, be happy even if you lose. It won't always happen. Better luck in the next game.

Farm. It's said below. But getting as many minions as possible is always very important. It should be the top priority. Some of my best games are ones where I have single digit kills but 1 - 2 deaths.

Which brings me to my next point, make it a SERIOUS goal to not die for any reason. Did you turn back around to try to save a teammate?....bad choice. Do you think you might get them in a rotation if you land 1 cc?...bad choice. Did a big team fight just bust out as a result that someone on your side was caught? Just leave....

It looks selfish, but trying to be considerate causes your team much more harm than your team playing smarter from the get go.

Go for only guaranteed kills. Don't dive assuming that someone will die. If a champion is above 50% health, assume a full rotation of every ability you have STILL won't do it. You should not pursue extended fights for any reason. You can't guarantee that someone isn't coming to help your enemy.
