Whats the difference between Ziggs' Q and any jumping ability?

How can Ziggs' Q "jump" over someone if they are not tall enough for the bomb to hit them, but Kha'Zix can't jump over a Teemo shroom, or a caitlyn trap, or any sort of trap type ability placed on the ground? Visually, he can clearly jump OVER that, but he would still get hit.

I thought League didn't have a Z plane? As in a third plane of movement and manipulation?

And this is not only for Kha'Zix alone. I'm sure other champions that jump, such as Tristana, would still get hit by the ground trap. Also, Thresh can Flay Tristana out of her jump.

The hitbox probably just disappears or shrinks after bouncing. If the champions lost their hitboxes to avoid traps etc. they'd become OP as hell, avoiding every skillshot while jumping.

Flay stops Tristana because it's a displacement type CC, not a stun. You can knock them out of their jumps with other knockbacks or player created terrain too.

Jumps in this game are basically just dashes, which is really misleading. The amount of times the dumbest of things have stopped Trist rocket jump item 3070 I'm guessing it's like that so you can still get hit while doing jumps?

There is no vertical axis in this game. Everything occurs on the same level.

The height is animation only (and always has been).

It's not that it jumps over someone, though it looks that way, the hit box is just awful.

Trist's jump isn't ACTUALLY a jump. Her model just gets bigger to make it look like she is. It's actually a dash.

the game might be animated as if its 3d, but its really only 2d.

jumping oversomething can't happen without riot making special rules to keep that "jump" from interacting with horizontal mechanics such as a blitz pull, or a cait trap.

trist doesn't jump, she just slides to another point in the world. kha doesn't jump, he partially teleports to another location.

flash is really the only ability that works like it should.

This may just be an oversight by them after implementing collision detection in strange ways.
