Immobile adc vs cc+dive comp / when to take cleanse?

Hi guys I was playing ashe earlier vs shen/amumu/syndra/luc/braum Our team was all offence, no peel champs, so I basically had to fend for myself. Which I am not blaming my team or the comp or anything. I'm just saying thats the situation. I myself told the team to use the cc offensively. No point asking Olaf and Nasus to peel.

First things first, I failed to dodge amumu bandages, got outplayed, nothing more to say.

So having said that - I took cleanse vs this squad and it failed so miserably hard, every time I used it, there was another 2 cc's waiting for me. General progression of events : amumu stun, instant cleanse flash - amumu counter with ult, even with reduced cc time, enough for braum ult to land or shen taunt = gg ashe no re. Cleanse was also up every 2 fights. All their cc was up every fight. I just couldn't even do a thing all game.

What to do(short of outplaying amumu stun) as an immobile adc vs a dive/cc comp? Was cleanse a good idea and I was simply misplaying the fights? When should I be taking cleanse in general?

Hey, I'm a diamond 3 ADC main here to give you some tips from my personal experience. Regarding playing an immobile adc against a hard CC-packed comp, you need to realize that you can't cleanse nor block everything. In teamfights, always analyze whether you're able to engage immediately in a teamfight. If the entire enemy team is all grouped up as 5 ppl, you need to let your allies engage first and wait until the enemy blows their CC (cooldowns) on your allies before you engage. Also, your positioning is crucial when ur playing against several CC threats. Never overcommit or chase an enemy through their entire team if it means you're in danger of dying. Always kite your enemy and attack the closest target. If there are too many threats chasing you, run back. before you utilize your cleanse, analyze how many targets are in range to CC you. Usually, you want to cleanse a time where you're able to use the short amount of time to escape or reposition to a safer spot. Enemies may end up timing their CCs at the same time so its better to wait until the last enemy to blow their CC before cleansing it.

Furthermore, consider purchasing an early defensive item. A banshee's veil is good if there are 1 or 2 major spells you need to avoid; its also good as a general defensive item since you don't have to micromanage the passive. Guardian angel is really good if you know you're dying every teamfight and will allow you to play more aggressive with the passive up. Quick silver sash is also a good alternative item that gives you more control over which CCs you want to cleanse out of however i do not recommend purchasing this item if you already have cleanse unless there are specific spells you need to remove like zed's ult.

No peel champs? You had Leona who is a walking cc factory, Xerath who has a stun, Nasus who has an op ass mini-exhaust, and Olaf who can avoid all cc and go ham.

I do notice that Leona, with 0 offensive items, had a better score than you. Not sure I'd blame the comp.

I'm not looking at the match history itself, but If you are in that situation consider BT as your first item because you will need the shield. I would keep heal as it just seems too important for the 2v2 laning phase.

Olaf and Nasus can peel, regardless of the things you could have done better they should have atleast been blocking the bandage. I'm sure olaf was popping ult and charging the adc everytime though.

You should never have even been in range of Amumu. He's their main initiator, so that means you keep your distance from him... definitely out of his Q/Flash/R range. Yeah, that means you'll be half a screen (or more) away from your team, but it's the only way to not get CC locked. It also forces the enemy to CC the rest of your team, or hold it all while your team does damage on them. If you hang back, you can even throw out your ult to help them before you actually move in.

If they're still holding some CC even if your team has started fighting, then consider your positioning and try to lean more to the side, or wherever they have less opportunity to chain CC you due to their own positioning. Cleanse is more useful if you're in a position to receive one CC at any time.

Generally, as an immobile ADC, you're just going to have an awful time against a team like that. Honestly I wouldn't even 5v5 that unless your team was already ahead.

(Also, if Amumu does land Q on you, wait for him to ult, then cleanse it and flash if necessary.) Oh yeah, you also might want to try tenacity boots against that kind of team.
