Janna build question

Hey guys, I'm in Gold V trying to improve my Janna, would like some help from you guys.

Here's the enemy team - Jax (with item 3124 ) Cassiopeia MasterYi (with item 3931 /item 3124 ) Blitzcrank Kalista My team - TahmKench DrMundo Ahri Me as Janna Jinx (both in order - top/jg/mid/supp/adc)

What items should I be getting as Janna? I went item 3301 start -> item 3069 -> item 3190 -> item 3110 (and item 1308 + item 2049 + item 3363 )

Could a more skilled Janna pull off item 3303 start? Was item 3190 a corect choice? I took it since they had lots of magic dmg here and there (plus 2x item 3124 ) Should I have gotten item 3110 first? What other items should I have considered?

Thanks a lot guys! Pushkar

Probably Frozen Heart first, I'd also consider a Mikaels and or Zekes.

It sounds like you were fine with your build path to me! I love playing Janna too! Smart to buy Locket with all that magic damage! It's not necessarily about skill with the spellthief start so much as your playstyle honestly. If I am feeling a more utility, tank build with Janna I'll opt for the coin. If you want a more damage, AP based build then spellthief's is your item! Obviously spellthief's purchase warrants greater aggression in lane, while coin promotes passivity! You can determine aggression based on the enemy bot lane composition, primarily their support! You're not often going to be killing a Soraka, so coin is what I prefer!

Your build path was okay I would have gone frozen heart before locket because you get the bulk from most of their dmg and then locket from the rest I wouldn't have gone swiftness boots because they don't have enough slows to make it worth it UNLESS that cass got the frost queens. the boot enchantment was fine in that situation because you would need your flash a lot against their team but captains would have been great because they have a jax and a yi and your carries would need to kite back and if you're behind them not only are they getting ms from captain but also from your passive so kiting would be easier. On the spell thief's question it's not based on skill level but your opponents so against their team you would need to kite back so speed is best frost queens is a lot better for catching people off rather than slowing them down because yi can't be slowed and a slow on jax wouldn't matter because he just jumps and stuns also it's based on the lane if you can use your aa's a lot then do it against blitz he's going to try to pressure you with q so it'll be hard but if you're against a trader like bard or sona or something the spell thief's would be great edit: I saw someone talk about playstyle but know that a good player will alter their playstyle based on the game
