How to double jungle, and what does it accomplish?

It seems like its just a waste of time really, besides in the LCS where they converge onto a single tower with bot lane and then take it and maybe drag if they're bot side.

In solo Q I've only seen it work where one of your two junglers basically lives in the other jungle. Probably a situational strategy though.
the point of double jungling is to keep your jungler healthy on their first clear, for you and the top laner to hit level 2 and the laner gets to base with enough gold that they can buy a ton of sustain. that's about it.
the whole double jungling then 3-4 man gangbang on top or bot tower is just an LCS thing.
