Wukong v Voli 1v1
So i played this normals match as Yi jungle, we lost and i ended with 1/4, everyone was talking trash about me. THe mid lux fed i believe 0/9 last i had checked. The top lost lane. and bot was the only one that was doing alright up until the end of lane phase. So top and mid were arguing bcs mid kept feeding. When i said 1 thing everyone jumped on me. Apparently a lv 6 Yi should be destroying their team, a team that has a really fed mid laner, and is ahead in gold overall. Also, they b1tched at me because i was using skirms with devourer. Apparently i'm "bad" for deciding to play Yi with that jungle item and not with chilling smite. So i challenged them all to 1v1. Of course they wouldnt do it, and only 2 accepted, 1 being the voli on the other team. The feeding mid laner msg'd me saking me if i was "too scared" to accept the invite. I replied i was already in a match so he/she said i was a pussy and that he/she will block me and delete me and tell everyone else in the match i'm a pussy. Um, okay...
So i play this voli. Voli v Wukong isn't a great match up for the Wukong. All voli has to do is tank and he can still deal a lot of dmg. I lost he match 6/10, 2 deaths being from deliberately runnign into his tower dyign to the tower not giving him the kill after having killed him, because voli was so hard to deal with i had to keep up in items. I rushed a Rav, then got a hexdrinker followed by mercs and spectres cowl, then i finished the hex into a maw. I was using flat mr, armor, and ad runes, basic on Wukong. After losing he said i could have won if i went tankier. I mainly play Wukong and i figured i wouldnt be dealing any damage to a Voli who only needs to tank up if all i did was tank up. He said apparently i don't know the meta and i'm bad. If i woulda tanked and got an LW and BC i coulda won. Then of course he called me a noob and deleted me after ridiculing how bad i did as Yi the game before that. So i'm tryign to stay cool, ive been losign matches left and right recently, i've won 7 out of the last 20.
What do you think? Would Wukong with a BC + LW then full tanked woulda beat a Volibear wth SFC, TF, full tanked? His bite was dealign so much dmg despite me focusing on MR. Should i have gotten different items? What would you have done? AM i really not at all familiar with the 'meta' and what should be built?
EDIT: BTW this Voli dealt 23k dmg despite only having SFC and a TF to deal dmg with, while i had a Rav and Maw i dealt 26k dmg. I was surprised he dealt as much damage as he did. Is this an obvious to anyone, like am i just being stupid?
