How to deal with... Jerks in ranked?

Like the guys that mock you and deliberately take your lane that you asked politely for, till your stuck in your worst position. How do you handle it?

If he was picking before you, Riot's policy is that he is in his right to take whatever position is left even if you "called" it, however politely.

If he's being a deliberate jerk in game, I either ignore them or act overly nice to them (especially rude ADCs as a support main). Oddly enough being overly nice often calms them down.

You cannot mute all in champ select

The only way to increase your odds of being first pick (in ranked) is to duo with someone and be the party leader. 2/5 odds instead of 1/5 odds.

Tilting = losing streak. Your head isn't in the right place, you're in the place where you make mistakes and bad plays on a regular basis. Part of this is luck, part is skill, and the last part is your overall attitude with the game.

And I'm assuming the only way you get to pick first is if you got an S in the previous match?

For one getting an S is extremely easy....just dont have horrible farm and i always get an s its so easy that an S means nothing. And 2 your grade has nothing at all to do with pick order in champ select

I have no idea what you have to do in order to get a certain grade. There is no requirements that I have found. Like do this and his and you get a B, do this and this better and get an A.

no nothing says it. But ive tested it. Gotten a certain kda one game got a b got that kda another game with a lot better farm i got an S. The grading system is a bit pathetic. I honestly dont like champion mastery "oh i got a mastery of 5 with lucian you better let me adc im better then you" even though all you have to do is spam a champ

This is why you shouldn't assume that the level 5 mastery player is good, only that they are experienced. I just go in knowing not to expect a question such as "what do I max first on this champ?" Other than that, they are a blank slate that I won't know their level of competency until 5 minutes into the laning phase.

Grades are given depending on how the game went (to some degree). Being 1-0-14 in a game where your team has 15 kills counts for more than 1-0-14 when you team has 50 kills as your participation was lower.

The system also compares you to other people playing the same champ in the same role around the same MMR.

For instance, if you go 20/0/9 as mid lane AP Janna in low Silver, you're likely to get an S+ because there aren't a lot of mid lane AP Jannas to compare you with and since this is low Silver, you're probably outclassing them by a large margin.

It's random. You get an equal chance every time you queue.

Be the bigger person and let it go. Play the game to your best possibly ability and show them that you are better than them through your actions not words.

While that may sound noble, what I am realy trying to say is just dont talk to them except for like shot calling and whatnot. If they rage at you or whatever, ignore them and when you get in game mute them. Dont rage yourself and pick your role any way. Just play whats left and do your best.

My worst role is top lane, I have like a 30% winrate there. Normally I will win my lane and have more pressure than my opponent though. I still lose the game. Call it bad luck, but honestly it is probably because the people that I can win lane with are not very good in solo que. I recognize this and try to avoid top, but sometimes I am still forced to go there. I dont complain or rage because truthfully, its ranked, I should at the very least be able to not suck no matter what role I get. Be confident in your ability to not suck.

And if your worst role is support, learn it. You will be stuck there a lot. It just happens.

I look-up the stats via Elophant. I proceed if they turn out to be decent at the role, even if I called for said role, otherwise I will likely just queue-dodge if they're clearly likely to feed due to being either still in or fresh out of provisionals with a very low W/L-ratio. I let it slide if they have a positive W/L-ratio & hope for the best as I proceed to try & support the team as best as I can through filling which-ever role is needed (besides jungle since I don't jungle & not a jungler but nearly every match has someone who can jungle anyway).
