Can someone tell me, is it possible? I am plat 4, i have been diamond before, and i want to try and go for high diamond this season. I'd do it solo Q, but my friend wants to duo with me hes like gold 2 or 1, is it possible? the last time i tried duoing we lost so many times. Can you even get to high diamond with the terrible duo system that gives you the worst teams (other 3 people) in the game?
No, you can't. It's literally impossible. This is why no one has ever gotten to Diamond 3 or above in this ranked system.
You know the system gives your opponents "bad teammates" as well right? It trys to average out the MMR of the teams. For instance, when I was G5 and I was duoing with my friend who was G1 to try to get him to plat, we would play with G3/G2 players on average. This went for both teammates and opponents. If you see yourself as always getting bad teammates, that's probably because of a preconceived notion of how good you expect your teammates to be, not because of your actual teammates skill level.
