Mid lane tips?
I personally hate mid laning. I'm generally a top, jungle, or support, an average ADC and a sucky mid. Anyone got tips? Even just counterplay to champs such as

, etc.?

If you can poke or harass, try to predict when to hit an enemy. If you can hit them while they try to last hit, or even just deny them the cs, that'll be fine. Be careful about using too much mana though, if you're using a resource champ. Try to take a mana potion and kill some minions in between pokes to restore some of your mana.
As for warding, I put my ward further in the river. The brush is tempting, but putting the ward on the tip of the wall that juts out on the edge of the river is excellent for letting you know where they are on that side. It covers about 40% of your total vision, compared to the small area the bush gives you, with both sides, including your side, exposed to better ganks.
As for really problematic laning champs like LB, I just do my best to CS and poke her if I can. I dont go far into lane though, it's never worth it with her.
Hmm, mid is hard to describe because its all situational awareness.
You need to be aware of when you can roam, when your opponent might be roaming. Which allied lanes can receive a gank effectively. You need to be aware of the enemy jungler, as you're vulnerable to ganks on both sides. You need to be aware of when you may need to support your own jungler, or they plan to support you. You need to be aware of your matchup, of course. Your wave positioning is important to when you can and cannot roam. You need to push if the enemy tries to roam. Also most AP champs can have difficulty farming under towers.
Mid wants to use their ward to cover their advance if they push the wave. The walls on the river create a barrier you can flash over to escape most ganks as well. Buying a pink ward on the first back reduces pressure on you.
Know how to manage your mana but if you don't have mana know your cooldowns. Build correctly and accordingly to the situation. Also pick champs that play well against the enemy mid. Focus on cs because it is 100% more important. Poke while taking the minimum damage. Try to hit lv 6 first so you have an extra burst tool and go ham if you have a advantage. Also roam, you usually hit 6 before bot lane so that could potentially be easy kills as most adc back around lv 6 but only roam when their mid just back or you have pushed the lane and if you know where the enemy jg is. Ward bush and the gap between the tower wall and river wall.
Play
easy to play with good sustain and tanky.
