Just dropped 2 divisions back to gold 3 from gold 1.

Every time I make a run for plat in gold 1, I end up on a gigantic losing streak and drop back to gold 2/3. Happens whether or not I take a break (last season after my 2nd run for plat, failing at 3rd promo game, I quit for 3 weeks, still kept losing until I fell back to gold 3).

I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I'm a jungle/top main. I almost exclusively play 5 champs when I get these roles: Master Yi, Hecarim, Pantheon, J4 and Fizz. I've been going on wild losing streaks on all of them, especially Hecarim and J4.

I buy multiple pinks every game, I upgrade my trinket every game, I think about team strategy, I know to not just "all mid" "group", I know how to pick fights, how to snowball, how to counter enemy snowballing... yet it never seems enough. The 0-3 Irelia you stomped in lane somehow always comes back to become a teamfighting monster, or that 0-5 Nidalee that you counterjungled to hell is suddenly godlike. I literally had one game as Pantheon where I was stomping Tryndamere in lane so bad he leaves lane with nothing more than vamp scepter and long sword. Next thing you know, he's on a killing spree due to triple kill bot. Eventually he went godlike. Luckily, he wasn't actually good and all we did in teamfights was stun him, kite him then put ignite on him at the 4 second mark of his ult. But seriously, that should NOT be happening, not at this elo.

I just don't know whats going on. What separates me from plats? I played with and against plats often, and I don't see how they are incredibly better than me. They obviously aren't if they're in my games.

The plats in your games have terrible MMR, I'm in mid-high plat and I haven't seen a gold player in ages. I haven't seen your games, but if you are going on long losing streaks you almost certainly are playing on tilt. When you lose 3 in a row, stop playing ranked for the day.

plat 5's usually. I have quit for up to 3 weeks before, still tilting.

You mean from Gold 1 to Gold 3?

Also its not always you its the type of players you are matched with and team compositions.

Before players just lock things they should understand what works better in a group fight situation take for example locking ziggs into an all in composition isn't good.

I usually play melee AD autoattackers. I'm just not that good at other champs lol.

You should try my YOLO strat. Type in [/mute all] every game, play some music in the background, and farm lane win game 2 ez 420 noscope. Do this and you will never have trouble making decisions because you have effectively shut down all decision making facilities in your brain.

There's nothing you can do but wait for the system to luck you into a good draw.

The system is designed to keep you at a 50% win rate. Meaning, instead of just placing you with people around the same rank as you, and have you progress through the ranks, like EVERY OTHER RANKING SYSTEM IN THE WORLD, this system will match you with players who have no business being in the same league as you, then match you against players who are supposed to be a full league above you, or vice versa. And it will continue to do that until you have a 50% win rate.

That's why you notice win streaks and losing streaks. It will continue to match you with players above and below your skill level, because the system can't determine your skill level based on wins determined by a team of 5 random people. But don't worry. Riot fan bois say, eventually, you'll be where the system has placed you.

Too bad 90% of the players are smurfs, so there's NO MATHEMATICAL WAY to EVER place you at the correct skill level you're supposed to be at.
