Need some serious help, Urgot (me) vs. Irelia

Well, I'd say Irelia is one of the few melee match ups that really screw Urgot over pre-6. A LOT of Urgot's power comes from his passive, which reduces enemy damage by 15% when you Q or AA them, if you're playing Urgot I probably don't need to tell you this but for anybody who doesn't play Urgot.. yeah, it's a pretty good passive. Perhaps not Poppy levels of good, but still good. Unfortunately, or rather, fortunately for Irelia, she does tons of true damage. Which not only ignores your passive but also negates your 60-120 armor/mr from your ultimate. FUN! Her built in tenacity makes your perma-slow less perma, and her innate sustain reduces a lot of the poke you do to her. Despite being a melee, Irelia is seemingly a pretty hard counter.

I'd say the best way to go about the lane is just to farm and don't let her kill you. If you have your jungler gank and get you a kill you should be able to poke her out of CS range, maybe even kill her if she underestimates your DPS. But in solo-queue, well, not everybody is keen on ganking an Urgot and letting him take the kill. If she tries to roam, push and try to take the turret. Urgot pushes rather quickly so you should be able to at least get to turret before she reaches mid, and either force her to tele back or take turret if she tele'd elsewhere.

Well to begin Urgot is still primarily an adc, therefore, he is squishy af compared to Irelia (aka a tank).

Irelia would be a tough matchup for Urgot, play safe and save your ult for a gank is the best I can come up with. If you try to poke her down it just gives her the opportunity to stun and all in you.
