What to do when you fall behind in lane?

Hi guys, just bought Riven and couldn't wait to use her in top lane. I had used her once before, but that was in mid. But anyhow, I was up against a pantheon. I was doing fine, but got ganked, but it wasnt a big deal. Then I had to plug my charger, and my screen went black, so I ran straight into the battle without seing and I couldnt do anything. Pantheon was up by two, and after this I couldnt do anything. I even stayed close to turret to get minion kills, but he used his block attacked me, killed and backed out. So wondering if u have any tips. Was a really bad experience, and I felt like I let the my whole team down.

Farm under tower and take the jungle camp closest to your lane. As for getting towerdived you have to outplay them. Usually if you get a kill/shutdown through a towerdive outplay you will get back in the game.

As Riven, say Panth Q's you under tower, followed by stun, and cone attack. You are probably 1 or 2 hits from being dead now. If he dive's you what you do is ult -> stun -> use first 2 Q's to dash out (kite and save your 3rd Q). You will most likely be very low so he will keep chasing you under tower. Kite him until he is low (run in a circle around the tower), use your shield to block the spear that would finish you off and then knock him up with 3rd Q followed up by Wind Slash. If he's tank 3-4 shots Wind Slash will either kill him or make him low enough that one more tower shot will kill him.

If all else fails rush an early defensive item or plead to your jungler for ganks. Hope this helped.

Enforce other ppl ganks, farm a lot when you, get nearby jungle camps if jungler is farming elsewhere.

Don't cross the river ever in you lane. You can only farm when you are near your tower. Do your best to just last hit and let the lane push towards you. If he dives you look for the outplay or just back off. If he gets the outer tower it isn't the end of the world, just freeze the lane on your side of the map so he has to really overextend to get farm.

If the lane gets pushed to his side of the map look to roam or teleport. Picking up some kills in a roam or teleport is the fastest way to get back into the game. You can take jungle camps but understand that will weaken your jungler and also possibly get you on his bad side.

Also, specifically for the Pantheon vs Riven matchup, all you have to do is wait. Pantheon falls off hard the longer the game goes on while Riven scales great. Just focus on getting farm and do your best to prevent Pantheon from roaming and impacting other lanes. You will outscale him even if he gets some kills.
