How to Play/Build a Crucial Support Tank?

Playing with my brother, he usually wants me to play Braum . While I like him, I generally feel as if I'm unable to do jack shit as him. Whether it's not being able to perform enough lockdown to secure kills or the inability to save others' lives, I'm constantly having trouble doing quality performance?

Another issue I have is what defensive stat to prioritize on a tank? Some people say I should get the Armor first while others say I get HP first.

At this point, I'm even confusing myself so here I am consulting the aid of the community while I read a yellow book

if you want even more pushing power, replace locket with banner of command you can put a spirit visage over warmog's if you want you have two item shields you can use if you get locket, so you can just choose to not allow someone to die with braum

Two counterarguments can be made here:

ZZ'Rot Portal only seems to be used in the top lane where it's a pushing war of attrition. I don't think a support tank like or would find any use for it.
seems like a silly item since it should be for heroes that have regeneration like or even Again, it feels silly to give it to tanks that have no "natural sustain" outside consumables.

Spirit Visage is a suitable replacement for Warmog's if you are dealing with a very high magic damage threat, even if you do not have inborn sustain. I essentially never build it on my supports, but it could work on Braum in some circumstances, so long as you are still building your team utility items.

spirit visage is not only a powerful magic resist item, but it also offers cooldown reduction. I think it has it's place on Braum

Visage is cost efficient, passive or not.

Personally I still don't like ZZ'Rots. item 3135 and item 3035 are so good and pretty much everyone builds them. HP based damage is harder to come by. And the active just seems so weak still...

HP first, especially on Braum. His Q scales with health, he has innate defenses with his (W? I haven't played him in awhile...), and Face scales with your HP as well.

Sightstone>HP>CDR>Defenses.

Something like this: item 2049 item 3401 item 3111 item 3110 item 3190 and either item 3083 or item 3143 or item 3068 for pushing

As for performance, Braum is for peel. Keep your allies alive, try to spread your passive as much as possible in a teamfight, lock down whoever tries to dive your teammate. Thats about it. If you want a more offensive heavy support go with Leona leona, same item path basics but based on diving in and disrupting the enemy, or picking someone off.

Maybe my issue was that I was playing too aggressive with Braum. Looking at his kit for the first time in like 2 months, I can't help but notice that it's more of a (banana) "peeling" kit; the type of kit that the Drow Ranger covets to keep her Marksmanship active.

I think Braum is one of the most peeling support. His slow and his block really help while disengaging. His ability to initiate with a well placed ult or a good timing Q hit also makes him an incredible engaging support.

The problem I think you have is the itemization?

I would suggest you to have some HP before armor/MR. It is really situational depending on who you are facing against and who is fed on the enemy team.

I very much agree, but one item I really wanna get with Braum is item 3110

I'm tending to run out of mana quickly attempting to keep my allies safe from harm. Or maybe I'm trying to hard to be aggressive when my allies aren't up for the challenge.

Playing him either gives me a headache or tunnel vision. Sometimes both...
