AP Alistar Resurgence?

I've been seeing an abnormally large amount of AP Alistar being played in my ranked games and it's causing me to go on stupid losing streaks (not that I really care or anything).

All this time I thought Rengar was the epitome of cheesing. But apparently AP Alistar is the new "broken" for Season 6. His passive will do more damage than a year's supply of Sunfire Aoe, he can heal stupid amounts, deal stupid amounts of damage, and his ultimate is pretty much a big fuck you to anyone who tries to target a squishy burst guy.

So essentially, we have a champion, that can deal huge amounts of damage, lock someone down, stay sustained in fights, and get away stuff with the worst impunity I have ever seen. Is there no counter to this?

I hope Riot looks into this. Otherwise we may have to waste a precious ban on something that we shouldn't.
