Need help looking for a champion to main

So ive been playing for a little while and I have mostly played support. I was in Silver for almost all of season 3 and 4 but I hit a loosing streak that took me to Bronze and i cant seem to escape lol. I've been doing some research and I've decided to main/play one champ and try to climb that way. I was hoping you guys could give me some suggestions.

My playstyle so far is

I'd pref somewhat tanky all in champion( not really into kiting)
I would like a champion that uses spells more than Auto Attacks
Not picked or banned much
I would like a champ that can play multiple roles so i can play them if forced into another role
I'm pretty horrible at cs right now but im working on it
I would like to be able to carry my team if they are bad

I appreciate any advice given

A role would be better to main, with 3 or 4 champions for it, rather than one champ. For instance when i adc i have Draven Ezreal Quinn Lucian in my corner rather than just ez who i prefer to play as. On top of that learn how to do all roles with one or two champs so if forced away from your main you have a backup plan.

You probably won't run into too many support mains, so you'll have reasonable odds of getting the role. She works great against harass/poke lanes (though she falls flat against all-ins) and can stop ganks as long as you keep good vision-- throw an Equinox positioned so that they'll have to wait or get snared, and you just saved your carry. Best healing in the game lets you keep even the dumbest carries alive. Save people in every lane with your Wish. Nuke the hell out of your lane opponents with Starcall.

Start either Coin or Spellthief, whichever works best for you. (I usually go coin, because T2 gives mana regen, which she desperately needs.) Build Chalice into Morellonomicon into Grail. You'll eventually want to finish a Talisman because you lack mobility. Probably won't have the cash for much on top of that, but if you do then just start stacking AP. Nuke everything to death, heal yourself, heal your team, win the game.

(Also, she's only 450IP, so not a huge investment. Really strong champ, worth learning.)

You really want to learn to CS. Continue playing normals, or even custom/bot games to maybe not master csing but to improve because ranked games are incredibly reliant on your creep killing. And as a few other people said, the best thing you can do is learn multiple roles and multiple champions for the role (i.e; bans and counter picks) climbing elo is really hard by mastering just one champ. I suppose it is possible but you have to account for roles being stolen and jumping into a role that does not at all suit the champion you're playing.

I know you mentioned your specifics but here are a couple that come to mind, -Vi is a really good pick (she does auto attack a little more than you might want, but she is great at being tanky, shredding armor, and initiating a team fight.)

-Maokai also comes to mind when you want a tanky spell caster type champion. He has quite a bit of cc, good engage/initiation, as well as having a decent amount of burst while still being relatively tanky if built properly

Instead of trying to find a silver bullet (no, not vayne) why don't you practice Csing with multiple champs in custom games. Get two champs you are comfortable with in every role and main one position, not one champion. I main support and feel comfortable playing Nami, Janna, Braum, Leona, Morgana, and Zyra so I am not worried if someone picks a "counter" to me before I pick because I have a nice pool to chose from.

I have now been working on other positions:

Jg: Fiddle, Vi, Sej, Panth Top: Irelia, Lulu, Malph, Jax Mid: Yasuo, Zyra, Orianna ADC: Vayne, Lucian, Twitch

I go into a custom game and practice CSing so I know at least I can lane with these champions. Now team fighting and positioning I need to work on, but at least I know that I have a better chance of winning if someone calls my spot or picks a champ I "main."

If you want to get better you have to stop playing the game and just practice in customs, then when you feel more confident take that live. There isn't a champ that will carry you if you aren't good because that sounds like it is what you want.

Lulu. She's one of the best mages and tanks in the game and she's almost never banned. If you're a bad Lulu, you are (censored). If you are a good Lulu, you will be a hyper carry whether or not your team is bad.
