Lulus Whimsy dosnt cancel Threshs Hook

I was under the impression that furry animals cant have chain hooks. I used whimsy during threshes hook animation before it attached and it didn't cancel it. Shouldn't it cancel animations and channeled abilities?

If it is already in motion, it follows through. It just prevents him from dashing in.
