Thoughts about Ashe Jungle

I didn't test it yet but I have a theory Ashe Jungle might work as a lower tier jungler:

The theory behind it is similar than a Yi jungle. You just keep farming the entire team to scale into the lategame. Just like a Karthus jungle you try to gank with your ult. Even when you are just farming your camps.

Feral Flare seem to scale really nice with Ashe, while she would be able to followup with a Blade of the Ruined King or Youmuu's Ghostblade. After these items her ganks should be really powerfull. Even without her ult.

Early junglers will eat her alive and I don't think she would have a great game in a ranked play. Her smite contest would be difficult but her vision controle could really help if you lost the vision war arround a objective.

I don't expect it would be a good pick. But I want to try it out. Anyone that has experience with her when trolling in that role?

So it looks like everyone who has commented so far has never actually tried Ashe Jungle.

If you can get a strong leash at your first buff, make a beeline for your second buff, and then clear one more camp, that can easily get through much of the Jungle without too much more help past vision.

The idea could work if you are incredibly anal about maintaining vision. Constantly use your E to check blindspots before you walk into them, use every and all opportunities to use your ward from Wriggle's Lantern+Buy even more green wards and even some pinks from the shop, and being sure to keep a good eye on enemy MIA's or where their jungler is most likely to be.

Personally, I like going mad-stone on her if I ever wanted, but my general play style in the Jungle is unorthodox and in a way I personally understand relatively well regardless of what I play so maybe you'll need to experiment first.

Interestingly, she does have some decisive ganks if you can land your Ult. Ult Arrow+Guaranteed Crit is a surefire way to chunk someone's health and set up your laners to get an easy kill.

If they're smart and they see you're Ashe jungle, they'll invade you and you'll die. I wouldn't recommend it, but if you really want to, go ahead.

The problem with ADC jungles is that they're squishy af. It's very difficult to clear without needing to go back after every other camp.

Ashe will be dying in the jungle.

She have no sustain and small damage output. She will be nothing like Yi, who can clean up camps very nicely with his high AD/AS and his Q. To compare - Ashe at level 1 have a whoppin ~32 physical damage per second from her autoattacks while Yi have ~40 without passive and ~50 with his passive. For defensive stats - Ashe have 564 effective physical health at level 1 and Yi have 654. Also, Yi benefits way more from Hunter's Machete since his attack speed early on (few first levels) is higher too.

Anyway, not a good jungler.

I actually have played a bit of Ashe jungle. I had the same thought as you awhile ago: "Ashe looks viable in theory I wonder how she would actually work in jungle?". The answer, unfortunately, is that she doesn't. At All. I suspect if you could survive long enough she could turn into a half decent gank jungler. The problem is, the first two or three clears are so brutal that you end up hopelessly underleveled and underfarmed.

Even if you could somehow manage to get Ashe to work I still would not do it, even as a 'niche' pick. If you really want to play a ranged 'off-carry' jungle there are simply better options. Jinx, Twitch, and Quinn all have just as much carry potential and also bring tools that actually let them farm without getting completely mauled.
