Does anyone else mute their entire team?

I've been doing this lately to relieve my own stress. At the start of the match, I mute my entire team and communicate with just pings throughout the match. I find that no matter how nice or objective I try to speak, fights always begin within my team. A comment like "please help me ward" can start a fight as if I insulted everyone's favorite parent.

I wish I could have friendly communication with my team but the times I find an actual friendly person on my team is so far and few that it doesn't seem worth the effort. Sad panda.

You could try to keep it on and just mute when they start bitching, and once you find friendly guys, send a friend invite so you could duo with them, but I don't know how many people would accept though.

Depends. When people start getting rude, that's when I start putting out mutes.

Never have, never will.

Start being friendly yourself, and when your teammates make a mistake, downplay it or push it off lightly. If they're still rude/bm mute them if you'd like but if they give clear explanations as to why they are mad, then objectively decide whether it was your fault or theirs.

Ignoring or building a tolerance to rude people is a choice too, though more easily said then done.

Communication is one of the most important aspect of the game and you're just crippling yourself and your team, if you don't want to handle the criticism/haters then by all means but if you want to climb higher in the ladder then I suggest you learn to cope.

Also, in my 3-4 years of playing league, I have NEVER been in a situation where i had to mute all my teammates, heck I have probably, only twice, ever muted more then one person in one team in one game (never three).

I do sometimes. I always tell them first though.

Honestly this is best. There's nothing valuable they have to say that can't be communicated in pings.

Eh, I always give my team a chance. Why? Because sometimes they're actually decent people that (like you) want to have a good game, get along with everybody else and win. Muting them before giving them an opportunity to say anything (IMO) is a little negative. But hey, whatever floats your boat. Personally I don't take anything people say to me to heart, so I never mute, BUT I suggest you give people more of a chance and if they begin to flame, then you can mute them.

I've been playing League for many years and thousands of games. There are some nice players out there. Those players are rare. Getting one of those players is even more rare. The best games are the teams where just everyone is silent anyway, so muting all at the start gets me the most likely, most acceptable outcome in terms of my stress. I enjoy the game of League quite a bit. I hate its community for the most part. The people I meet OUTSIDE of the game via streams or blogs or what not are nice. But the people I meeting during it, rarely nice.

TLDR: Muting reduces my stress and increases my enjoyment of the game.

If they are all harassing me after I miss an ability, or if I get: "..." too many times.

I used the mute function pretty liberally. Also I have all chat disabled in ranked matches. I'm diamond 2.

yep i do and wish they would remove chat all together including pre and post game form All modes including ranked .

it would solve so many problems . Effective use of pings is all you need to avoid any "non communication" issues according to riot.
