Before her rework, Fiora was my go-to top lane champion. Granted not used very much, I don't top lane if I can really help it since I really don't enjoy melee champs. But since? I just can't get the hang of her and just feed if I get stuck top. So I need suggestions for other champs to try!

I think you should keep practicing Fiora, as she is strong right now and can be a lane BULLY if played correctly. If you must move on, I need to know your play style top. ( poke em out? Trade champs? Tanks?)
If you like being an early game bully and a late game bully and getting pentakills without taking any damage you might like 
Renekton is a lane bully. Play him.
I guess if you don't like melee champs there's always Teemo, Quinn, Urgot and Gnarbage. You can also be a doucher and run Lulu top too and just make the enemy laner's life a pain. Lulu top is actually a pretty good pick into a Nasus top. Usually against a Nasus you sacrifice your own farm to make sure Nasus gets no farm. Lulu can do this and still transition into late game because she has utility. Just make sure that your mid laner or jungler is tanky or else your team will have zero front line.
Renekton is an easy to play top laner since his kit comes with a non skill shot stun, a great gap closer, and good damage and sustain with Q. Also a great AOE ult. Plus he has not skill costs so that's a bonus.
Garen is also an easy champ to learn since he has no skill costs, no skill shots and tons of damage while still being able to tank like a boss.
Some other easy top laners would be Nasus, Darius, Wukong, or Ryze.

if you're trying to avoid top lane and just not feed if you get there i'd suggest malphite he's really strong into most matchups right now and is super hard to kill
Use xin zhao. Once u stack ad on it he is unstopable
