PSA if you're ahead, STOP pointlessly split pushing.

Honestly I can't tell you the amount of games lost because someone for some reason thinks it's a good reason when we're all ahead to split. Unless they have a far superior team fight, it's absolutely pointless to split push, and like my last game, leads to pointless losses. This is mainly directed at top laners and ADC's who I see it do the most, which then leads me to my second point.

UPGRADE YOUR STUPID TRINKETS! Seriously 250 gold for unlimited wards is probably broken to begin with, but STILL I see people split pushing without upgrading their trinket, and even worse without ANY wards. Honestly this is, or at least should be, basic shit. You'd think in Gold people would stop doing dumb stuff like this, but nope, still just as prevalent.

There are three reasons I'll continue split pushing while ahead.

  1. The objectives I'm taking are the only thing keeping my team in the game.
  2. We are contesting another objective, and my pressure elsewhere on the map will assist more than grouping will.
  3. I have TP up.

The main reason I say this is because someone is bound to reply using one of these situations to defend their right to endlessly split push. The OP specifically mentioned "pointless" split pushing, and these are not pointless. Split pushing for the sake of split pushing is always terrible.

the point of splitting while ahead is that you'll be exerting so much pressure in two or three lanes that you'll always get a tower out of it. it's why 1-3-1 splits against teamfighting compositions is really good because they want to go in as 5 and not deal with one guy shoving a lane.

If you are ahead, why dont u just go to same lane where guy is split pushing? Why do u want him to go with u?

It depends on your team comp. If you don't have the stronger teamfight comp, you do the 1-3-1 split push and win thru pressuring objectives. If you are ahead, they can't just send one person to stop the side lanes.

if an adc splitpushes: instant report if a toplaner splitpushes and his team loses: instant report his entire team

surely that toplaner cant expect his soloQ noobs to be able to change their strategic play based around a splitpusher with their dead and rotten brains but if he doesnt mind the loss, its his problem. you as a throwing noob in that scenario have no saying at all.

Split pushing is the counter to 5 man team fight oriented wombo combo team comps that are popular in the Gold division.

Split pushing is also effective vs. unorganized teams, which is why countless people have been able to solo carry themselves up the ladder, using this tried and true strategy.

I disagree with your statement. Split pushing is the most effective when your team is winning, because you are forcing a group of strangers to coordinate with each other, make proper rotations to stop you, and they can't group as 5 like they want to compensate for their lack of strength and gold as individuals.

Just push the minion wave past river, then ward up and chill at your towers/near objectives with your team, simple little things like this can make a big difference~
