A few key lessons from my losses and my wins:
Always ward the top side jungle if you get ahead. This allows you to control enemy splitpushing mid and late game (when it hurts) by collapsing 1v5 on the enemy top, killing him, then immediately taking baron since bot lane is long and it takes a while to push up it if you have preemptively pushed out bot.
For blue side, pushing enemy bot is the easiest since there is less brush in the east side jungle; for purple side, push enemy top. Less brush means less risk of being flanked by an initiator. Getting initiated on late game is usually a death sentence even if the enemy is behind 1 entire item each since even a 5 item ADC will still blow up a 6 item ADC no problem if the 6 item ADC can't fight back.
Always note what terrain you are fighting in. Some team comps excel in jungle battles while others prefer to push down enemy lanes straight up. When you are ahead and have a good tank, sometimes its better to just dive the enemy under their turret rather than try to get a catch in the jungle; long range ADCs excel in the jungle where they can hide behind very tough to pass terrain (blue buff wall is the big one, since Jinx/Kog can shoot anything from there while being an undashable wall for most champs). Do not fight in unfavorable terrain.
