Need advice for mid in ranked
I've noticed that mid is a much more challenging role in ranked compared to normals. Can someone give tips to help me make the transition? I'm sick of being outplayed and outsmarted every game.

ward and remember that since your in the middle of the map you will get ganked a lot. Also counter picking, you need to understand your match up if you're up against a yasou then pick someone like azir very pokey mid laner who will force him out of lane
another thing to note is that remember this is a team game so pick someone who will be useful during team fights
Always buy a vision ward and place in the push on your side but adjacent to the river. This ward may last all game. Always buy a ward and place on the other side of the river. Not necessarily right in the bush near you but deeper into the river so you have time to react.
Focus on CSing and getting your first big item and level 6 then ROAM. Help everyone else. Bot having trouble? Push your lane to enemy tower and roll bottom for a double. Jungler getting invaded? Go help him! Map awareness is key since you can get everywhere quickly from mid.
Don't die. It is okay to recall...it really is. Warding helps with this too.
PING if you lose sight of your opponent. Remember what I said about roaming? Your lane opponent may be doing that.
Really the key for mid is to be as helpful as possible and exert your will over the entire map. You are like a jungler with more gold (and therefore more dangerous). In fact, helping your jungler with ganks makes them that much more likely to succeed. Ward up, roam, ping, push towers and objectives. Keep good map awareness.
