Malzahar vs. Galio Pointers

I just did a co-op against Galio since I'm working on my Malzahar and wanted to face one of my counters. He stupidly went bot lane for the first half of the match, because bots are stupid, so I was able to free farm. Still, once we started duking it out, I only managed to go 6/3.

If he got after me, his CC made sure I was screwed. He was tanky enough that even a full combo with ult often wasn't enough to finish him off. And he could negate much of my damage. It was beyond frustrating.

So is there anything I can do to make this matchup at least more bearable?

Well, what's your build, and was he able to shield? You'll want to catch him when his shield is down.

Galio naturally deals with mages easily late game especially because he has so much MR. Leave Galio for someone else on your team and fight someone with less MR (penetration is acceptable if you still want to damage Galio a bit)

Getting items like item 3151 item 3001 would do the trick, assuming you're just only planning to 1v1 the guy. Works well if you landed your W before your ult.
