League, Where Even Co-Ops Bring out the Salt in Everyone

Wanted to test out Ekko jungle first in co-op before making the leap to normals. For some reason, we ended up with duo top and solo bot. Our bot was a Platinum 3 who said she was doing this for "practice," not to "have to put up with some dip." She proceeded to go 26/0/5. I show up 1-2 times, as I'm going around trying out ganking every lane to test out matchups and situations, and... you know that meme with Patrick from SpongeBob where he has 1 assist and he says "and now I'm gonna starve"? That was her. "Go help the lanes that need help." It's bots. No lane ever really needs help.

Yes, I understand that if a lane is already snowballed I, as a jungler, don't really need to help, but I'm being honest when I say I only showed up when I did because 1) I legitimately thought she was in a bad spot and 2) Few other gank opportunities were presenting themselves. She was facing a 2v1, and bots will chase you down until they reach turret range in that scenario, so she was often pushed in and gankable. The others, however, tended to be taking care of their own business and/or pushed to turret. The most I could do with them half the time was practice my turret diving, which is easier with Ekko than most, and I did test that out some as well. I could've also farmed some more, but in co-op you really just need to do a clear or two to get a feel for what it's like and anything past that doesn't tell you anything more.

I was literally just trying to gather as much information as I could from this co-op, seeing what I could do in every situation, and all this person did was question me at every turn. This is a running theme with League, whether it be ranked, team builder, co-op, featured modes, etc. Everyone is always a try hard, and I'm always worried that a match is going to descend into toxicity, even if it starts out as really good natured, fun ribbing. People in this game just seem to be perpetually on the edge and about to go over it with the slightest nudge.

I know the feels. I had somebody today get upset that I didn't assist with an impossible baron (two man baron at Level 15) and told me to die. I did show him later though. I stole a baron. As Maokai building mostly tank (with some AP, but mostly HP and Armor). :D

I feel like that platinum in a 1v2 was just trying to say that she has literally 0% chance of losing lane, so there's literally 0% need for you to not just camp the other lanes. i don't feel like she didn't want you bot, but that any progress made on the other lanes is how you create the best possible outcome in that scenario. although i can't be sure of course, that's just what i feel.

Nyeh, "I don't need help, go away" is kind of a suck reaction, even if it is true. Let the jungler practice some. Already going 20+ kills and 0 deaths. Almost sounds like that plat wanted to feel cool or something by soloing 2 bots in botlane.

if it was me, I'd have zero problems with a jungle gank, practice or no.

So much truth. Back before the jungle changes, I used to relax by going into Co-op games and going hard-random jungle. It was just for fun, AI games are generally low stress since they're almost unloseable, jungling is even easier since you can usually just afk farm to win, plus it's almost always open, and I wasn't really intending to practice anything since I wasn't a particularly serious player.

Occasionally I'd get some light rage about jungling at all, and that's fair enough I guess, going into a 1v2 with a bad match-up as a fairly inexperienced player can be rough, but it never really got toxic, surprisingly, and I'd usually go out of my way to help the 1v2 whenever I got a chance if they looked to be struggling, which they often weren't. Most of the time my teams were pretty positive about it.

Every once in a while, though, some people were just ridiculous. I had some guy go off on me for playing Draven jungle (remember, bot game), who spent the entire match cussing me out for picking it and straight up telling me stuff like "It's not viable in ranked so it's not even worth playing." It's like some people don't understand that tryharding isn't the only way to have fun.

Every co-op game I play these days I end up with a item 3141 item 3041 Ezreal mid. Makes it impossible to pace or enjoy myself.
