Have people not figured out / forgotten that using any hard CC on the scuttle crab (Vi's Q, for example) makes it about 100x easier to kill? It seems like lost knowledge whenever I see other junglers punching it for what seems like an eternity.
The River bug is generally not regarded as an immediate threat but it lies in wait until one of the nexus is destroyed. Then it emerges to consume the bodies of the fallen who are frozen in a perpetual state of defeat. The ones who fed most he devours first. Toxic players are dragged back to it's water lair to be used as insulation for his A+ energy rated home (dammit i slipped into work mode)
I am a jungle main so no Kappa ;). I noticed as 
that the Krugs buff is quite useful to killing it as Fiddle's moves are bad for killing it XD. However most champs have no trouble killing it.
In some cases that may be more of champs sustaining off of it with lifesteal, or saving their cc skills for whatever reason (Ex. Mana conservation early on or if an enemy approaches while you're trying to take it).
But yes, cc'ing the Scuttle Crab does make it infinitely easier to kill. I especially like how over-exaggeratedly it flies and falls when knocked up by certain skills.
