Recently I played a game with a few of my friends and we had one random on our Team.

This man was Diamond 3 and the rest of us were low - mid Silver, so we immediately knew something was up.

We added him to skype and the game went on. The other team was trolling, but we were all having fun except for this random D3 in our game. This man was incessantly flaming and we kicked him out of the call for a bit. He flamed in chat angrily at us for having fun with the other team who was down a player. We were all having >fun< instead of 'roflstomping' the other team brutally and abusing it.

We all reported the angry ball of fire on our team at the end of the game and about 5 minutes later we received the message from Riot that a player we reported had been punished, so we added him back to the call. He'd been banned for 14 days. He was livid and said he'd been putting up with "trolls like us" for years and after searching his name, we found multiple posts about how he'd been banned over the years for "being trolled by the system and getting troll teammates" and how it's their fault he's been banned so many times for trash talking and flaming them.

He proceeded to threaten us in real-life on Skype saying he'd "Beat our asses if he was in a room with all of us. And that we were a bunch of "Keyboard warrior nerds who will be dead beats in life for not taking anything in life seriously" and just a bunch of other nonsense. He continued to scream over the rest of us about how mature he was and even started looking up a few peoples skype info and since a couple of guys are real social gamers and have their YouTubes / Facebooks / Twitters / Skypes all linked he was pulling up pictures of people and sending them to the group chat calling us a wide variety of racial slurs and profanities. This lasted a good 20 minutes before we got bored of inviting people to the Skype call to listen to this self-proclaimed "Man" scream at college and high school students over a game.

(TL;DR) My point here is that the system isn't flawed. If you're constantly getting punished and banned, you're what's flawed and you should really look into changing yourself and your actions before you go blaming other people..

Depends what your definition of 'having fun' is. If you and your premade are dancing at baron pit for the whole game. That's not 'having fun'.

Depends on if your team and the enemy team decide to join you.

If the enemy team is down one and you choose to enjoy the game instead of "'roflstomping' the other team and abusing it" then you're not trolling. You're taking a bad situation and trying to help everyone have a fun time instead of potentially leaving a bad taste in the enemy teams mouth.

At no point though is flaming and threatening other people okay though. If I say I'm gonna stomp an enemy in lane, that can be taken in fun. If I threaten to find someone and beat their ass, then it's no longer funny.

Finally someone gets it, when they build tank velkoz and try to 1 on 1 the enemy top laner writing lolololol, is not fun if you ask me, I as an example have fun when I win, that's fun for me, plus I only play ranked to get to gold for the rewards, and then play only normals and occasionally ranked if my friend talks me into one match.

exactly, fun is winning OR losing with a good hard fought game, fun is not making troll builds, running around the map aimlessly, and purposely trying to 1 v 5 and so on.

One time I was playing a norm as Mundo. I had the increased summoner spell mastery and cdr boots, and the game was a complete stomp in our team's favor. Their Lee Sin was doing his wraiths on top of a ward, and as he went to kill the big one I stole it with a cleaver. Knowing I had a really short cooldown on flash, probably wouldn't need it anytime soon, and seeing an opportunity for some bm, I decided to flash over the wall to spam my ctrl+2, which is mundo dry humping the air saying, "Mundo think you a big sissy. Mundo think you a big sissy. etc, etc, etc." This is why I love playing normals.

As a level 21 who can't do ranked because it takes a million games to level to 30, I hate people who have this attitude. "I'm going to try ADC Nasus lol its just normal chill." That doesn't mean I don't want to win! Do a bot game if you want to practice. Don't ruin it for everybody else.

I mean, I don't care if you lose a normal game and you try, but if you aren't giving it your all to win, you shouldn't be playing this game.

Here's the thing about that though: Some people know what they're doing with these unusual picks.

For one, I enjoy playing AP gangplank. His playstyle is completely different from AD gangplank and much more of what I prefer; playing passive and farming up. Your ult is basically you in fights; 210% of your AP globally isn't something to laugh at.

And if you happen to join fights you can easily take poke for your allies and heal with the 90% AP oranges.

Off meta picks aren't exactly bad, it's just the player playing them that makes it what it is. If the player is running into towers and feeding, then yes I would get angry as well.

ADC nasus actually does have some merit from what I can tell: He can stack his Q in lane, he has whiter to snare "slow" the enemy laner, armor shred on the E and he transitions into a nice damage dealer later on if he doesn't charge headfirst (if he didn't build tank.) Though usually you will have to accommodate for these off meta picks by filling the gap that may be left open from said pick.

Off meta picks are fine, sorry if I was unclear. I meant exclusively people who try those off meta picks for the first time in the normal game, or people who try new champions in a normal game. Whenever I want to try something new, I do it in a bot game to make sure it isn't absolute trash. In the example of ADC Nasus, AD Nasus is fine because his skills scale off AD and AP. But taking him in a bot lane in a normal game for the very first time is a bad idea. He went like 0/6 or something and kept saying stuff like "It's not ranked chill."

You don't have to go tryhard, but you should always try, regardless of the mode.

I'm actually sitting at a 65% global win rate with a 85% win rate with support Bard and 75% mid veigar/velkoz. Gotta practice my jungle game some more loool. I think i'll be good to do ranked at 30, though i'm definitely waiting till the season changes get settled.

YOU CAN'T HAVE 4-MAN PREMADES IN RANKED! Therefore, we can reasonably assume it was a Normals. AND FROM THAT POINT, your ENTIRE argument is invalid.

You guys are right, it was norms, therefore necessary however I stick by the rest of my statement if it were ranked. Also the fact the system is indeed broken and abusable

I'm pretty sure this was normals, since he said he was with some friends and one random. Since, as of right now, there is no 4 man soloQ(I don't think the 5 man soloQ been implemented...), they couldn't have done this in ranked.

Also you can easily tell which people in this thread are the neutral to decent people who think raging morons are funny, but happy to see them banned.

You can tell much easier which people in this thread ARE said raging morons, likely even currently chat restricted, trying to defend other raging morons.

Mmmmmnope. Good try though. Also i guess only a toxic person would take offense to what I said, ao there's that. I just call it like it is, which is blunt, not toxic. If what I said is somehow found "toxic" you either are yourself guilty of being toxic and taking offense, or are a very delicate snow flake.

It's also worth noting that the standards of behavior are different on the boards than the are in-game. The boards are intended for discussion, so being blunt - even if it's somewhat rude or might be considered toxic in-game - is far more acceptable.

Yes, well Riot seems to be against retaliation of any sort. If you do any form of retaliation, it is punishable, which is stupid. I think Riot thinks that two toxic players somehow ruins the game for everyone.

You SHOULD be allowed to retaliate.

They may be old but they're not outdated. When you retaliate, instead of listening to one rager rage into thin air, your teammates now have to put up with two ragers raging back and forth at each other: the original rager and now you too as well. Besides, the more time you spend raging at someone the less time you spend actually playing the game.

Funny you say that because whenever people post something similar to: "___ player toxic in game" or "Retaliate to____" Or "Why is this game so toxic"

There are a ton of comments saying, "just mute". Said posts get tons of upvotes. Why does this not apply here?

Muting is meant to be a last resort, as in if the person being a jerk has been asked multiple times to stop but refuses to do so, then that's when you should mute. Some people think that because the mute feature exists that it's okay to be a jerk to others when it's not.

The guy was banned, he got what was deserved and it should have ended at that.

Calling him back to rub it in his face and then telling the whole world is not sportsmanlike conduct.

If you want to crack down on non-sportsmanlike conduct, you should also consider your own actions.

If the guy didnt want to rage then he wouldnt have answered the fall and spent 20 minutes doing so. He got what he wanted, and made himself look dumb in the process.

Now, how did that Diamond 3 have low silver mmr in normals? I know it's possible without getting boosted, but it seems so suspicious...

Could be that he only plays ranked and thus have a low Normals mmr since he doesn't really play it. Like, say he was a silver player in normals, but as soon as he hit lv 30 he started playing nothing but ranked, which leaves his normals mmr at silver.
