Guys, how do you get through patches of just really really rough teams?
Ever since the new season officially hit, I've had awful awful luck when it comes to the teams I get matched with. I only get to play 1-2 hours a day, since I am at university and don't have a ton of time on my hands, so having a bad 10 game streak means I've had the better part of a week and a half full of swearing ragers, AFKs, intentional feeders, and 0/15+ duo botlanes. I've won 3 out of the last 10 games, and only 1 of those games wasn't marred by constant abuse, death threats and insults for 30+ minutes.
This has been the chain of events for me.
Step 1: Maybe ranked is making me mad, since I am something like 3/5 in provisionals and I've had 4 games with at least one AFK so far. That doesn't work.
Step 2: Play only my favorite "play em in your sleep" champs so I can at least feel skillful. Doesn't work, I have amazing early games that then just fall into frustration due to astronomical feeding by my teammates or a simple disconnect so we have to surrender while I'm 6/2.
Step 3: Stop trying so hard, play new champs in teambuilder. It gets worse, my last two games I've had to deal with a 1/17 botlane and in this latest one a 13/0 Draven walking out and causing our teemo to start trolling and intentionally feeding while refusing to surrender. No idea about the chat, i've just started muting all after the loading screen.
So what do you do when you have streaks like this that absolutely ruin your game experience? I'm not tilting and playing badly, I'm not raging back at these people beyond the occasional complaint about ANOTHER afk or asking people to report a troll in all chat just before the game ends, I'm just...not enjoying the game anymore. I get a tiny moment of hope in champ select, where I hear the selection quote of the champ I've picked out and I go over the possibilities and the fun I've had in the past playing them, and then it just falls flat immediately when I get in, and we've got three team members, or the enemy team invades and gets a triple.
Tl;DR: What do you do to get yourself out of a slump after a series of really unlucky matchups?
who before then I had never played. I have made a lot of new friends in game. I have overall gotten a lot better at teamfights, and learning when to initiate and when not to. I learned how to pick out targets out of an entire team (hello beautifully shot nidalee spears). I remembered how much I loved playing certain champs that may not be viable or I may not be good enough for serious gameplay.
