Epiphany: Sunfire + Booties of Mobility = . . .

I don't usually use item 3117 anymore, seems that I tend to feed faster. BUT, when I did strap on item 3117 (as support, mind you, you fiends) and I would build my favorite item 3068, when I'm navigating the forest or the lanes, all enemy mobs would take damage fromitem 3068 and it would deactivate item 3117 , so now I think that combo is useless.

Actually, like whats the point of item 3117 in general. Helps you regroup faster, I guess, but in teamfights its just an empty slot. That's why I've shifted over to item 3111 item 3158 for my support builds (gotta get both) and whenever I play Soraka you gotta have item 3009 .

Think about it= Soraka w/ item 3504 item 3069 w/ CDR, you're not gunna need item 3158, your heal is up in like a second anyway . You and your team will be the bane of all the skill shots and the running away from the enemy.

TL;DR Sunfire + BoM don't work good. Could someone please tell me the actual uses of item 3117 ? Right now, the cons seem to outway the pros.

BTW I'm not good, don't be harsh on my observations/conclusions D:

Sunfire isn't really a good support item. Don't build it and you'll love Mobi boots again. Build item 3143 instead.

Mobility boots work on champions who need position for their womb combos. They work well on champions who roam a lot like Bard or Eve, or champions who must get into range quickly for combos like Blitz or Annie that don't require the extra speed or stats once the fight starts. Blitz brings you to hIm...but getting in range for a fail proof grab is hard without lots of speed. Annie can 100 - 0 you with her combo so getting in range for bear bombs is all that matters.

If you are hell bent on using SFC, mobility has never been a good idea. It's always deactivated the boots. Swiftness are by far and away the better choice for enhanced speed wth that item.

meant for roaming so you can place wards faster and miss less xp

I personally prefer item 3009 Boots of Swiftness with either Alacrity (almost always) or Furor (rarely) on most champions. I play immobile champions (Malzahar Yorick ...to a lesser extent Shen) and I feel like it's rather pointless to move almost as fast as my opponent, since that will mean that my opponent still gets to choose the terms of when a fight happens. If I can outrun them, then I can put the ball in my court and decide whether to flee or chase.

My second favorite option is item 3047 Ninja Tabis, since they can be really awesome against teams with lots of AD autoattackers.

I don't really like item 3117 Boots of Mobility for the same reason that I don't like Homeguard enchantment... I want to be able to rely on my movement speed in combat. I do feel like they are a reasonable option in some cases though.

I especially dislike item 3158 Ionian Boots since I would rather take CDR masteries or even scaling CDR glyphs in any case that I might otherwise choose CDR on my boots... All of the other boots besides these seem like decent options to me.

Your problem is that youre building sfc on a support

I don't like Boots of Mobi, and I jungle a lot. If Mobi dropped down to 45MS in combat, it'd be more worth it, but I don't like the idea of getting plinked and being slower than someone with normal Tier 2 boots, since it makes escaping a lot harder. Which boots I use tends to depend on the champ, but as a support, I almost always go with Merc Treads. The MR is helpful, and the tenacity means I have less 'down time' due to CC, so I can be active and in the fight more.

Mobi boots right now are best on roaming assassins (like Rengar Talon and Zed), rather than most tanks or fighters.

item 3117 You can roam. You can get to lanes faster. Also regroup. Being faster allows you to ward choke points and come back quick.

Also, why build item 3009 onSoraka? She gets movespeed from her passive.

...did you watch this video?

Anyway, yeah, mobi boots don't work well with things like sunfire. As a jungler who needs mobis to get around easily, I find it particularly obnoxious that cinderhulk builds from bami's cinder, which is essentially sunfire cape without he armor... it's why I try to get enough gold for cinderhulk before my first back. I don't usually have to deal with it for long, but... you know. Annoying.

As for the validity of mobi boots, they are very useful, but I don't recommend it for just any role. Support? Most definitely! Jungler? Nearly every time. Other roles can use them, but I wouldn't recommend them if you aren't almost constantly roaming or not interacting with minions often (e.g. jungler or support, respectively). The main reason for mobi boots is 1) they are cheaper than other boots so low income roles like jungle and support can afford them more easily, 2) make roaming and getting to lane easier, and 3) chasing/retreating. If someone's about to get away, you'd be surprised at how fast your mobi boots can kick back in, and the same applies if you're about to escape.

Most roles in lane (adc, mid, top) probably shouldn't get them, unless your strategy is push lane -> roam over and over again. As a support, these boots are best used in lane to either make backing more efficient, or getting good positioning (like with Thresh, Blitzcrank, Braum, etc).
