So when starting a new account...when do you go from just playing....to actually conforming to roles and meta? Level 15...level 20....does it depend on the role? For instance I know back in the day it was nearly impossible to jungle without specific jungle runes and masteries...so nobody bothered until at least the 20s...but now that may have changed...so I figured I'd ask.

Now I know....I can't expect people who are just learning the game at level 5 and six to know what the meta is etc, etc...this is for my own benefit. I'd like to start over for fun and level up with only normal games (I leveled up in season 1 via bots...back then I didn't know better) and I'd like the practice of leveling up from the start. So at what point do you all suggest you begin to run meta roles...ADC/Support bot, traditional midlaner, single top laner, Jungle.

Honestly this really hinges around two things...Jungling and when it's appropriate to start...and not just with easy junglers who don't need leashes etc...and when you can expect the traditional Support/ADC to become commonplace.

they tweaked the low level runes so I think it might actually be feasible to buy them now at lower levels if you want to try jungling. They are not as great as the level 3 runes obviously but could be a start. Otherwise I think you can just start at any level with "meta" roles. I played a few normals on my low level account and got standard lanes in my game even though that account had next to no normal experience (4 games? 5 games?) and is sub level 20.

The low level runes were reworked, so maybe look into those if you want to start jungling early. Otherwise I would say just wait till level 20 and get your runes, you don't need "specific" ones, most rune pages have Armour runes and those are the most important to your jungle page, the rest you would get whatever you felt like you needed ex. AD/AP/AS/MS. It might be difficult before level 30 to consistently be able to play with the meta, but most of that is the no jungler which isn't a problem if you decide you want to do that.

If you are just hoping for other people to start playing jungle in your games, you are just going to need to deal with whatever you get until level 30, or almost level 30 when most people have at least tried jungle and have their rune pages mostly set up.
