Normal MMR question for Reds or those knowledgeable.

So...I'm not good...I know that...but I'm trying. Yesterday I played a normal game where I was top lane as Jayce paired against a Darius. I did ok in the laning phase...I think I was 4-2 or 4-1 by the end of it...the others lost their lanes though and we wound up eventually losing a marathon game. No big deal, was fun. But I looked up the guy I was against in the game and he was a level 30 Bronze 2 player...I was notably 20 at the time...maybe 21.

I don't have a problem with that...just a question. Does that mean that I'm currently on pace to be placed in high bronze in 9 more levels? Or am I on a pace for better than that as it's placing me up against them when i'm 9-10 levels lower than them? Just seemed kind of weird...and I'm curious how that all works. I'm notably trying not to be discouraged by the whole "bronze" thing though hehe.

I know I have a long way to go to be anywhere close to decent...but I am trying to improve and I'm not the kind of person that just blames teammates etc. We may have lost mid and bot lanes...but we were still in a good position 30 minutes in and we controlled dragon the whole time...there's undoubtedly things I could do better to help carry...just have to learn them. Thanks to those who might take the time to answer my MMR question.

Normal MMR is completely unrelated to ranked MMR. https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/201752954-Matchmaking-Guide
