I main zed and hes by for my most mechanicly and knowledged champ of any in the game but people tell me that theres no way i could be able to play zed and do good much less carry in my elo. Is it true and should i just stop playing him till i grow elo even though i have about 800+ games with him overall in my career and i mained him since the beggining of season 3?
Dont stop, elo normally is decided by game mechanics, not champion mechanics. What this means is that you can find very good xxx champion player in low elo, but if he doesn't go for objectives and gets cocky and starts to try to 1 v 5 the enemy team, he will lose, no matter how good he is at his champ.
So keep on playing zed, and work on your game mechanics with him ;P
I reckon it's hard to carry as Zed in any elo, just because his lategame scaling is pretty bad, plus he's almost a single-target champion with the way his death mark works. Not to say you can't carry as Zed, but fall behind and you're a goner. Besides that, in lower elos, don't worry about playing a champion that a team wants you to play, play the champs you're best at and most importantly, GL HF.

You like to play one champ?
Play it, there's one guy that plays only mordekaiser, he literally hasn't played any other champ in a ranked game, he just goes everywhere, mage, AD, top tank, jungle, support, it doesn't matter.
Play what you're most fond of, especially if you're as good as you say you might be.
Zed has among the lowest skill floors in the game.
Will you play him at max potential? Probably not.
Will you be able to play well enough to do well with Zed? 100% yes.
In fact, given his: A) Easy last-hitting B) Strong escapes C) Forgiving build-path
Zed is one of the better champs to pick for players at lower ranks.
All of them have good points, but here's another. If you're as good a zed as that would indicate, he's hard as hell to play against. I know I get frustrated when zeds can use their shadows efficiently. Yeah, he's an assassin, but if you keep taking out the fed person on their team, then your team should be able to handle the rest, right?

zed is one of best champs to carry in low elo. if you are zed main. always play zed, even in full ad comps. he is really good. one of the best mid laners possible.
