Targon's is a better item since you can get the bonus gold from your Q when you execute minions. And the HP and shield are much more valuable than AP and a Slow since you have plenty of slows with your ult and passive or even an iceborn gauntlet.

It really depends on how you intend to play GP support. Sure targon's is an option. so is coin. all can work on GP. If you want to go aggro spelltheif is the option to take. Shiv is the goal above all else.

The funny thing is. I have seen tons of gp support videos and they all suck and targon's is normally what they take.

They also don't use my runes though.

item 3097 is a much better choice. Allows him to grab CS that would otherwise be out of his zone of control, since his Q counts as a melee attack and will execute and synergizes with the gold generation on his Q. Also provides useful heal, and his unexpected durability will be very useful in combination with his permaslow.

Not sure. I actually got this page specifically for GP on ARAM a long time ago after I had already bought every useful rune. I currently have 50k IP with nothing to spend it on. I knew it was bad for Top lane so I decided to give it a try as support and it works pretty well.
