I'm not implying I'm any good at the game to begin with, but I've finally been struck with the desire to start climbing...

I've been playing the game casually for a year... I want to move out of playing bots for fun and normals for a challenge. I want to play ranked. I want to climb. I want to play better. I want to succeed. I know in order to do that, I need to keep a level head of some kind - and raging / going on tilt isn't gonna help me.

I hold the Summoner's Code dear, and try *sooooo *hard not to flame, afk, or rage quit... But the more I want to succeed, the harder it gets. How do I suppress the rage? Tryndamere

Unfortunately, you're just going to have to develop a thick skin, and not let things get to you. So.. don't suppress the rage, make sure it doesn't start building in the first place.

At the end of the day, this game, though competitive, is just a game. Realize that everyone makes mistakes. Realize that there are trolls, and people who are genuinely bad.

Focus on your own play and how you can improve. Because chances are, the people who are causing you so much distress at that moment? You'll never have to deal with them again. The only constant in each game is yourself, so that's the only thing you can hope to improve on (in both game-skill and tolerance of others.)

Staying positive, the occasional muting and taking breaks when on losing streaks also helps. Good luck!

It isn't against the rules to call someone out, but do it in a constructive manner. Instead of saying "wtf", say "don't facecheck in the opponents jungle" etc.. Also some games aren't winnable and you are going to have to accept it, but afk and rage quitting is the worst way to handle any situation

Alright here is my best piece of advice for you or anyone else who plays this game: Don't play to win. (what?? this doesn't make sense) Play to improve and get better at this game. When your focus every game is to learn something new or improve your gameplay, then every game you play is a positive experience. As you get better at the game, the wins will come naturally. When you're only focusing on trying to win, you're going to have negative feelings when you lose. Accept that everyone loses. If someone is saying negative things in chat, ignore or mute them. You're spending alot of time playing each game so use that time to benefit yourself. The game becomes much more enjoyable that way.

I'm a diamond player and with this mindset, every game i play will only make me better as a player overall.

Mute button on everyone and focus on yourself. If you are worried about lack of communication just ask teammates to use pings.
