If a gank force feeds you a free lane, take it and run with it. Snowball your lead. Do not derp around. It is not sufficient that you succeed, especially against enemies like . The enemy must absolutely fail. How do you snowball your lead?

Push a large wave to tower, then do not hit tower. Just back or, if you are aggressive, start proxy farming and then back. That denies the maximum amount of CS to the enemy.
Alternatively, if you are not so far ahead and the wave is near you, freeze it and zone the enemy out.
The above apply for side lanes. For mid, you need to shove then roam and help gank other lanes, transferring your advantage to other lanes.
If you are in any danger whatsoever, just disengage. Do not stay near tower for 30 seconds doing nothing because you are low, then die to a dive. Giving away shutdown gold is the #1 way to lose games. Do NOT give away shutdown gold.
Listen to the person who is making the plays. Do not deviate from their calls, especially if they have been right before and have resulted in either that person or other persons being fed. It is always better that a team follows a single unified shot caller than everyone doing their own thing and getting picked off. 5 going to engage a bad baron fight, all dying and taking out 3 of the enemy, but stopping the enemy baron, is better than cowering in base or getting picked off going to ward, and then losing baron + your life + an inhib to baron'ed up minions. League is not a democracy. It is a tribe. Tribal warriors always recognize the dominant warlord, and listen to him.

I'd add a few things:

6: Know them powerspikes. Don't mess with a lvl 2 cassio, or a lvl 3 riven, or a lvl6 jax. Odds are they will beat you. 7: Know the scalings. Going even as a vayne is a good thing, doing so as a graves is bad. Getting a kill as the former means you can stall safer, doing so as the latter means you have your opportunity to go ham. 8: As a top/mid laner, if you are ahead, play somewhat recklessly. Getting their jungler to camp you helps your team a ton. 9: Assassins and fighters roam, mages and tanks farm an wait for the dragon fight. Know your role. 10: Feed your carry. If you can carry the game, take the kills, if you are a tank, try to donate them to someone who is a carry. 11: You want 2 carries in your team. One is way too easy to focus down.

11: Unless you have morgana, kayle and Zilean and maybe Yorick too because why not protecting/reviving that carry (and Kayle is kind of a carry... or well she used to be at least)

Exactly. Even if you get 1 kill, messing around with a lvl. 6 Irelia or Jax still would get you rekt if you are Pantheon or something. Just because you are up ~500 gold or so doesn't stop their base damage from hurting any less. After all, 500 gold is just a cloth armor + some pots. You still need to be careful about power spikes and not play recklessly and then give up your snowball lead.

bumping this. i just gave our adc 3 kills in the first 5 minutes, next time i look bot shes 3/3 and down 30 cs because "durr i just wanna farm we have lategame" so she just let them freely push to tower, where she missed half the cs under turret
