Dealing with Susan

Just played a horrible ranked match laning a Nasus top with my main Wukong. The worst match i've had in a while, ended 3/6/3.

To be fair with myself and the reason why i'm not really that upset about doing so bad, most of my team excluding the adc were pretty bad. The jungler didn't gank Nasus not once. Bot lane got destroyed and eventually mid as well. With the whole team losing and me not being able to kill the Nasus that started with full tank runes and masteries and rushed a Frozen heart eventually there was nothing i could do about him. The Nasus was also a smurf, he said he was gold 2 after he said i was bad and i asked if he could tell me why he thinks so and give me some advice based of what he thinks i did wrong. Not that i think the reason he is gold 2 is why i lost, it's just Nasus is OP. Wukong is also OP, but in a much different way.

I need some tips on how to deal with a Nasus. general tips and if any of you main Wukong as me, specific Wu v Nas tips. One of Nas' tips was that i shoulda rushed LW and tbh it was the only tip he gave me that i believed. I rushed tiamat then LW, but by then he already had a kill on me and had FH and a bit more armor. He is so ridiculous with the stacks.

To be honest, Wukong should be able to pressure Nasus for a large majority of the game. His Q out ranges Nasus's and in addition shreds armor, and if you stealth during the withers, the damage he will be able to hit you with will be neglegable; on top of the fact that he doesn't do good damage in the early game at all; especially if he has a full tank start.

That aside, Last whisper shouldn't be your first item. You need sustain (usually in the form of hydra), and black cleaver is much better, because you can reduce nasus to nearly no armor for you team to deal with. Of course, if you are in a game where all lanes lose, you are pretty much screwed regardless.

I feel the best way to beat Nasus is to shove the wave and gank other lanes. Nasus is one of those immovable champions who can sit in lane forever with his sustain, just slowing scaling up. Try to rush hydra to shove the wave quick and then start either invading the jungle or ganking mid/bot.

Try to zone him alot cause he can't do anything without his farm and don't try to push cause he can get farm so try to stay in the middle of top lane. And every time he trys to farm try to poke him with your q or e. Try to ask your jungler also to try to get some early ganks so he can't do so much in late game. Good luck soldier! You must realize that unless you kill Nasus in the first 5 minutes, he will eventually be unmovable out of lane. However, what Nasus can't do is:

  1. reach your ADC if you have sufficient peel.
  2. kill your front line (you) if you are sufficiently tanky
  3. move around the map and roam to help allies before getting stacked.
  4. run away from multi person ganks.
  5. poke or siege

What you need to do as a teamfight initiator top (Wukong is a teamfighter initiator top. Please don't play him as a cleanup assassin. It deprives your team of an initiator):

  1. Build item 3074 item 3143 item 3035 item 3071 item 3111 item 3026 for a good combination of tankiness and damage that you'll need to engage fights for your team and to kill enemy squishies.

  2. Start flask and pots. Don't bother with Dorans. Rush Tiamat. Don't finish Hydra. Go straight for cleaver at that point. If you fail to kill Nasus in the first 7 minutes, when you have Tiamat shove lane then start invading enemy jungle or ganking mid and stop bothering to trade with him at the cost of CS.

  3. Do not take ignite. Ignite is a very high risk summoner spell against Nasus. If you do not win lane with ignite, you lose the game because now you are down an option to 1. defend towers against Nasus splitpush if you've won a fight and 2. you cannot reach bot lane fights in time to turn the tides. Always take TP.

  4. If it comes down to Nasus splitting and you having 5 ppl in a lane vs. their 4, tell your team to ignore Nasus and hard engage 5v4. In a base race, Nasus can't beat 5 ppl. You'll win the game directly if he doesn't come back, especially if he's far away from your inhib (say at inner tower) since he'll take at least 10 seconds to down it. This is why you need to build for teamfights - in a 5v4+1 situation, you want to be able to engage and catch the enemy team off guard.

  5. Late game, under no circumstances should you not have your jungle warded. Nasus can easily backdoor and kill any exposed inhibs or low inhib towers within seconds. The way to win is to collapse on Nasus as he comes.
