Found a pro tip:

You were still in range. Kinda. idk its weird. its the same as riven ult lol if you're standing super close but off to the side you'll still prob get hit

So Melee'ing her in the back is "in range?" K. Not what it displays if you don't use smart cast and press R.

You all in'd a lux 2 levels ahead of you, she had her ult, you didn't have your's. You lost a fight you shouldn't have attempted. And you're mad about the wrong thing. This shouldn't be about lux's ult. It should be a "Cocky Ekko gets rekt"
