Especially stop giving them Eve, Nami or Janna. And stop being clever and giving them all supports.

Do give them:

Five of the same kind of champion, even if you have to give them high tier ones.
A team with no mobility.
A team with no CC.
Champions with hard counters (Morde, GP, MF) especially if your team already has those hard counters.
Champions they probably can't play, ie weird or low pickrate ones. It is a safe bet that no one has a clue how to play Galio, Elise, Morde or Anivia, and people seem unable to build TF properly. Viktor is also hard to use but is riskier because he shows up enough in nemesis draft to give people a chance to learn how to aim death ray. Urgot is a gamble because most people may suck with him but if they don't, your rickety non-meta lane is going to get dumped on.

Don't give them:

Shit tier champions for the sake of giving them shit tier champions. The five lowest winrate champions actually form a nice meta team. If you give them troll picks, they are slightly more likely to lose. If you give them a lineup that can't lane or teamfight while yours can, they are guaranteed to lose.
Champions that hard counter something (Janna, Darius, Sona, Yorick) because the rest of your team will miraculously consist exclusively of the exact champions that get hard countered.
An all support team because "xD". They will ban or donate enough squishy supports to prevent you from giving them nothing but squishy supports, and then you will stick to your gimmick and give them Alistar and Braum and then you will lose.
Eve if you don't trust your team not to feed her.
Shaco. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GIVE THEM SHACO. You're playing Russian roulette and pulling the trigger five times.
Janna if the intention is to give them five squishies. Janna exists for the sole purpose of protecting squishies.
Champions that are actually decent, just because for some reason everyone bans them (Nami, Eve, Janna, Aatrox). I have no idea why people keep giving each other Janna.

Don't ban:

Common bans which your team is actually good with. If you have a Taric main on your team, don't ban Taric and wait for them to donate him. The bait may be obvious, but it is a good bet that at least one of the enemies is oblivious enough to fall for it.

Also:

Don't flame the guy who picked the enemy champion that's currently wafflestomping you.
Try swapping top and bot if you got countered, if they don't have a jungler or just for the hell of it to mess with them.
When someone says he absolutely can't play a champion and offers a trade, don't tell him "stfu" and then report him for feeding.

You don't have to main Urgot to be good with him. Hell, you don't even have to remember that the Muramana active applies to single target spells.

You just have to remember to E Q Q Q Q and that your ult can really fuck up their positioning. A lot of people seem to underestimate his ult, but it's actually quite good.

Someone gave me Kayle yesterday. I smote them with my righteous fury. Seriously, I went ADC bot with Soraka support and wrecked the Taric + Kog Maw lane. Late game I was three shotting the Taric. The laning phase went even faster than it would normally have, because they gave us a Rammus and he ganked lane at level 3. :D

Plus our tank Eve top was solo in a 2v1 lane and went 25/7/13 while I went 30/5/13. So, yeah...

My advice, don't give the enemy Kayle. She's seriously outclassed as a support, but she's Tier 2 at EVERY SINGLE OTHER ROLE!

It appears that the main problem with this mode is that too many people literally don't care about strategy. Their reptile brains only understand the concept of "give them bad champs" and proceed to give them a meta lineup of low tier champs and the occasional good champ like Karma or Janna.

You tell them to "give them 5 squishies" or "give them no cc" and they utterly ignore you or call you an idiot for even suggesting to not give them Urgot when you know for a fact he's going to piss on any lane he goes to because you have no range and no sustain. After all "urgot is bad omg"!

Or you manage to get 4 people to cooperate and the last pick decides Braum would be a great gift to a team with 4 squishies in it just to make sure they have plenty of disengage to make up for it. And then they blame you for feeding when Quinn/Braum lols on your Shyvana/Nunu bot lane.

These are the people giving League 5.6 on Metacritic because "balance sucks ass".

I wonder if this sort of thing is reportable for not communicating with the team because that's pretty much exactly what they're doing.

Further proof, if anyone needed it, that ADCs can't do anything without their supports, but the reverse is not true.

Donating all the farm is the only thing holding support champs back from being the gods they are in ARAM. And this mode proves it too.

zilean actual has a huge range. larger than most adcs. fix his attack speed and you have a serviceable marksmen. It's like the time when the most popular way to play annie was as an adc and use her abilities just for utility.

A skilled Shaco player will walk all over the seven hells with you and your hastily thrown together team, especially with the odds-on three players with new champions they don't quite get. Obviously not always true, but a Shaco main is a terrifying thing to add in to an otherwise random, uncoordinated match.

I am pretty good with Anivia, Mordekaiser, Taric, Elise, Galio, Alistar, Urgot, etc. I've been praying--praying to GOD--for a Leona, but no luck so far. I've won twice with Taric, which was fun, and had one match where three of my team got their mains. I've noticed TF being given to my team twice, though; neither would trade me, and they both built terribly. I don't understand. =(

I did get Evelynn, and as an ARAM specialist, my team nominated me to play her for the first time. I did surprisingly well, and actually bought her. It goes to show you.

Oh, and as I mentioned elsewhere, we gave a team five ADCs and all built Thornmail. This was one of the Taric games. :3

Overall I'm enjoying this, if just to see what can go on in Rift when it isn't always Yasuo/Lucian/Thresh/Braum/Syndra/Riven etc.

All ADC team is very risky to give up, especially if you think Varus, Ashe and Quinn suck - they are amazing when the enemy gets to give you Darius, Garen, Mordekaiser, Shyvana and Singed.

It's probably good to give them squishy AD with no CC and no hybrid damage. So probably things like Draven and Sivir, and not Corki or Kog'Maw or Ezreal. Ashe's stun is also pretty dangerous. I would say other safe picks are Caitlyn, Graves, Lucian.
