How do you play ADC in Bronze?

It's very unlikely that your teammates are on the ball enough to know when to engage and who to engage on (simply an issue with inexperience).

How do you get around this?

ADC is backline damage... but more often than not, if you're the only one on the team that seemingly knows what and when to do it, you have to put yourself in a front line position to do so. I realize this trouble would be solved by mandatory voice comms as typing and pinging is taking away from your "micro" but sadly getting a team of Solo Q players on the same voice comms is less likely than them actually knowing what and when to do things.

So, I just want to ask... How do you solve this?

Thanks!

There three easy ways to be a stronger ADC in Bronze:

  1. Learn how to last hit. Aim for 100 cs by ~11 minutes. There's going to be a lot of randomness in it all, but getting out of lane with farm is important.

  2. Learn how to keep your farm up. You can't typically get 10 cs per minute for the entire game, but try to never be more than 100 behind. Always have at least 300 cs in a 40 minute game, etc. If you find yourself falling far behind this mark, you need to get back to lanes better instead of grouping for no gain.

  3. Don't die. Honestly, it's Bronze. There's a lot of randomness and a lot of crazy silly engages. Don't be the guy who gets picked off. Grouping can be hard, getting objectives can be hard. But at the end of the day, if you're the 6 item AD Carry and you're not the first one to die, you're probably going to win teamfights.

{quoted}

you have to put yourself in a front line position to do so.

Wait what.

No, you should never be in the front line as an ADC. What are you doing, ignoring the enemy tanks and focusing their squishies?

How to Focus in Bronze:

  • Kill the thing that is attacking you and can kill you Leblanc Graves
  • Kill the thing that is attacking and can't kill you but imminent follow up can. Blitzcrank Aatrox
  • Kill the thing that you're in range of that is doing the damage to your team. Varus Ahri
  • Kill who you're in range of that your team ignores but still does damage. Pantheon LeeSin
  • Kill the thing that is obstructing you from killing anything else MaokaiBraum

Positioning and to NOT die is the first thing you've gotta learn while playing ADC, along with CS-ing. Don't dive the enemy backline lol, kill the thing that is threatening you, let it be MaoKai frontline or a LeBlanc that is coming for you.

I hate when I hit the enemy tank a couple times, and my whole team engages on the tank....then they bitch and say dont focus the tank!

If the tank is way in front of his team, yes I'm going to poke at him but it doesnt mean I want to all in on him. Sorry bud I dont know the answer to your question but I know where you are coming from.

I play bronze ADC, usually as tristana. She has incredibly long range, and many escapes. (Learning others but don't do quite as well..)

Anyways..

Always stick beside your team.. more or less.. your support. That's gonna be the person who gets you out of something if things go Bad.

Always love your supports even if they're bad. if you see they're having a rough game just say "It's cool, we'll just try harder." If your support is in a bad mood, you flame at them, they will do worse. If they KS you every once in a while, don't fret, the enemy is dead and now your support has a little gold boost to probably finish off that sight stone and other support items to protect you.

Basically, treat your supports with respect... it really helps in the long run.

When it comes to team fights usually stay by your support but also think... "Where would be the best place for me to be right now, where I can kite them and do the most damage for my team.. " NO you do not wanna be in the front lines, you wanna go with your tanky support or jungler and backdoor them. (If the time is right.. don't do this often)

Don't go in unless you see someone else go in. Kite, do damage, don't focus the tanks get the mages or the enemy ADC. take out their carries then get their tank..

if you get low, always helps to have one bail out skill,

Trist's rocket jump Cait's net Twitch Stealth. . . . . Kalista's passive...

ect..

ADC is just a fancy name for "feeder" in Bronze/Silver. :P

Your first job as ADC is to be SAFE, if you are not doing that then you do NOT belong in a higher division. As far as climbing when your team won't engage play poke ADCs, Lucian Cait Corki are all good options to do damage when your team doesn't engage. Honestly split pushing works great because of low awareness in bronze, there are lots of different ways to win games. However playing the game wrong because you lack the patience to let your team initiate is not improving.

And also, play champions that has self peel. Meaning no Ashe, no Jinx (her reset is fine, but seriously... NAH), no Varus. Your support won't peel for you. This is a mindset you need to have. I'VE GOTTA PEEL FOR MYSELF. Notable examples: Graves Lucian Tristana Corki Out of those, I'd say Tristana is the safest, with a self-peel and jump. Just don't gapclose into enemy team and you're fine. ADCs that don't have a brain tend to jump into melee range to fight enemy laners. If your ADC plays like that, please leave your lane and help other lanes. This ADC is worthless. :^) Unfortunately after the rework Tristana is really really boring to me. In the current meta, Graves is really strong. Burst, mobility, AoE damage. Lane bully, unfortunately for me he falls off late game, if you don't end the game earlier.

You don't have to play ADC in bronze, actually. Cheese them with a highly reliable kill lane and push them on tilt. In every fight, you'll be able to dive the opposing ADC and take out their primary source of damage. This is due to the large amount of positional mistakes from the opposing ADC and the lack of teamwork (peel) from his allies.

How to win almost all your games as ADC in bronze...Learn to CS better, improve your personal CS, if you get even half decent at it you'll double your opponents and easily move up. Also buy 1 pink ward, it'll make a large difference.

Another things I find sooooo frequently in Bronze is..

2 inhibs down - enemy team stronger - we get aced...

"All mid" "group mid!!"...

WHY!!?!?

Go to the fucking lane that has an inhib left and push that, forget mid...

The "mid dance" only hurts your team... do the "only lane with inhib left dance" and let the other two lanes push themselves in...

It's mind boggling how bad strategies are at this level. Again, this is all indirectly from the "I need to carry this game to get out of Bronze mentality".

Please implement the Ranked Requirements! lol

Im in wood ( I main support) and I find that I can get the amount of Cs my adc has in litterally 2 minutes if he/she let me. I play Morgana and when my adc is gone I can 2v1 and get a kill+Run away safely and my adc just stupidly runs in and gets kills. I feel like he doesn't have to even try it's so majestic. I guess you don't need skill to play an adc in wood.

During laning phase: play safely, don't take stupid risks. Don't burn a flash to lasthit someone. Buy wards (yes, I know, but do it anyway) on occasion.

I don't know what to say about teamfights. If you don't have a tank or people just aren't protecting you like they should, it might be a loss cause.

If someone won't play a tank, try giving someone else adc and play a tank/bruiser yourself and make it your mission to protect them. Best way I can think of to solve this problem.

One way to play ADC in bronze is to work on your solo mechanics. If you can dominate your lane in terms of cs and positioning, you stand a better chance in the mid game. Also, buy wards, especially if you can win lane early. One of the better shut down strats is to push bot lane tier 1 tower down before the enemy adc gets big and then keep pressuring them into tier 2. Often in solo queue, the "let's go mid" mentality lets the enemy adc catch back up. Just focus on beating down the bot lane and make sure your own positioning is solid and you should be ok.
