People who don't take Ranked games seriously...

...are literally the assholes of league. No, not the trolls, they're actually a bi-product of people not taking ranked seriously. No, not the feeders, they're also a bi-product of people not taking ranked seriously. When you queue up for Ranked it equates to you signing up, joining a professional sports team that has a rotating roster and competing to be the top of the ranks. After-all, league is a sport, remember?

So to all you trolls and feeders who have experienced a player just not giving a shit about the fact they're holding YOU back from advancing because they're not bringing a competitive spirit, attitude or even gameplay (because let's be honest, why are you playing in the pro-scene if you don't consider yourself to be 'good enough'), I understand

Finally, to all you casuals clogging up the rungs of the Ranked Ladder, please do everyone a favor and stick to Normals, ARAM and PVE.

Sincerely,

Bronze V

I shall tell the local kids at the park immediately to stop playing soccer or basketball for fun. ATEMMETA has declared anything that can be competitive cannot be fun and is serious business!

"league is a sport" sorry but i just cant take NA seriously when they say that. its competitive and stuff yes but sport (in my opinion) was always something that has to do with you being trained or shit. like your body. not gaming

  1. No it's not. The League ranked ladder is not equivalent to a professional roster. The LCS is equivalent to a professional roster. The ranked ladder consists of tens of millions of people, playing on home computers or laptops, who made three clicks in order to start a queue timer. It's them playing a part of the game that gives them back a label so that they can see how good they are. It's the numbered version of normals. It's NOT a sport, it's a game. Pro play is what the sport is for League.

  2. I consider myself a casual. I play to have fun, and I could care less if my team has a jungle Swain, or if our Tryndamere has a deathcap. I could care less if I win or lose.

But that doesn't mean that I'm holding players back or that I'm "clogging up the ranked ladder". In fact, being a "filthy casual" got me from B1 to S1 in a month, carrying almost every game and having the funnest season I've had yet. Casuals aren't holding you back. You determine your rank, and a big part of it is your mentality.

especially in B5, where people have nothing to loose. so they don't take it seriously.

It's an interesting perspective, so since competitive play is the subject I shall offer some competitive conversation: A team sport such as football is not the same thing as an individual sport such as golf, and so the MVP carry mentality experiences quite a bit of pain from attempting to play as a single person.

It's my opinion that the best use of ladder/ranked gaming is to sort players into experience/expertise categories, so that everyone can enjoy a good challenge without ROFL-stomps.

ranked is made to play seriously, but mostly having fun. And not become salty sore losers that cant accept a loss.[slayer-jinx-wink]

At the end of the day, leagues is just a video game. While ranked should definitely be taken more seriously than normals, you can care too much about it.
