He is ridiculously easy to counter and you are probably asking to get camped.

The only time I would first pick Nasus is if I'm taking him to the jungle, and can bait a counterpick top lane.
love seeing early nasus picks. i go azir and laugh as i not only harass him in the lane phase, but i also outscale him and prevent him from doing anything useful in a teamfight with my ultimate.
