Rek' Sai build advice

Twiggles··1 votes·1,485 views

I'd like to start playing RekSai , but I'm not really sure how she's usually supposed to build. Hoping some Rek' Sai players can give me a couple pointers.

I'm mostly just unsure if I'm supposed to build her as a fighter/bruiser or more of a straight up tank role. She needs to be able to get inside the enemy team to knock them up, so I'm guessing more tank than damage. Still, some general advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance to any helpful replies I get. :)

Deadman, titanic hydra, sterak's gage, more tank.

Out of curiosity, why the Sterak? Not criticizing or anything, just wondering what makes that item attractive specifically for Rek' Sai.

If you want HP+Damage+sustainability when you're about dead get steraks. Don't have to though, could always just get another tank item, maybe even Botrk if you're rich enough.

Alright, that makes sense. What about something like Sunfire Cape or Black Cleaver? I'd think the aoe effect of her Q would make Cleaver a smart choice while the Sunfire would help her damage output and survivability in hectic teamfights. Just some ideas.

No need for sunfire when you have cinderhulk. Unless you aren't jungling of course. Cleaver's good.

Actually, I completely forgot about the jungle item. XD Haven't jungled in a while, so I sort of temporarily forgot it was a thing. >_>

Anyways, thanks a lot for the tips. Not sure if I'll be playing her tonight, but I'll try out those items if I do.

With Rek'sai, I have only ever used her as a jungler, but she is able to be used in the top lane role. She has very strong ganking ability and excellent sustain between camps as she uses her burrow.

I generally start with Cinderhulk and then build into Black Cleaver, but she does make a pretty potent Warrior enchant champion for her upgraded machete. The beauty of Rek'sai is that once you build your full jungle item and one offensive item, you can start building tanky with items like Dead Man's Plate, Randuin's, and Spirit Visage and be an absolute terror in team fights. You may not blow people up, but you will soak up an incredible amount of damage. Add in Merc treads and you will be eating up their CC, as well.

My final build with her tends to be something like: Cinderhulk, Black Cleaver, Merc Treads, Dead Man's Plate, Randuin's Omen, and Spirit Visage. If their team composition is particularly AP heavy, I will switch out Randuin's Omen for Locket of the Iron Solari. I hope this helps.

Thanks, I'll definitely consider that. I feel like Rek' Sai is one of those champions that can build a variety of tank items and still work out fine, so I'll try a bunch of different things. Thanks a lot for your input. :)

I would recommend cinderhulk into deadmans plate/randuins, merc treads/ninja tabi, locket/banshees, and titanic hydra/black cleaver. If you are fed super early you can go warrior or just cinderhulk into black cleaver/titanic.

Seems legit. With this, I can be a god among men. I am not worthy.

Try top lane rek'sai with triforce into steraks gage. The steraks makes your q + sheen prok deal an insane amount of burst while you build tanky after those 2 items

I might give that a shot too. For now though, I want to get used to jungling again. I've been top, bot and mid too much lately.
