My thought's on Bloodthristier Vrs Hydra

Lately I've seen alot of people taking item 3072 over item 3074

Why? let's compare Stats item 3072 +80 Ad +20% life steal +Overheal shield max 350 Cost = 3500

item 3074 +75 AD +12% Life Steal

  • Aoe - 20-60% ad damage to near by enemies
  • Active - deals 60%-100% ad damage to near by enemies resets attack animation Cost = 3300

Pro's and Cons

item 3072 Pro's Nice Ad Great Life steal Nice shield for early/mid game Con's Single target use Cost 200 more gold Shield becomes less effective late game Costly Build path aka : item 1038

item 3074 Pro's Nice AD Deal's Aoe damage Has active that resets attack Has Life steal Great wave clear 200 cheaper Easy build path. Con's 5 less AD No hp shield

In Game Usefulness

item 3072 The only two things I can say this thing has over hydra is its exstra 5 AD and the shield so lets look at what those have to offer

5 AD with tri force and 100% crit from item 3031 at 250% damage 5*2(for the proc of item 3078 ) = 10 AD 10AD crits at 250%(item 3031 ) = 25 exstra AD

Shield meh, 350 hp boost that isnt always there, good for aborbing some damage but late game with people hitting for 1500 to 2000 not really that great.

item 3074

Allows you to get CS like crazy allowing you to get full build 15mins earlyer than you would with Blood.

Its Active is a beast just look at what happens for example I'll use Ashe Ashe with 100% crit and tri force above

Ashe uses W or E to proc Tri force 75+75AD = 150 ad next attack hits enemy basic attack 150AD crits (1502.5) = 375 then activate hydra which resets attack animation hits for 75 ad that crits again bc of the 100% crit chance we are using 752.5= 187 Ashe hits her W which procs Tri force again 375 damage again

just basic attacks just dealt : 375+187+375 =937 damage in under 2 seconds, she would still have her ult and that shield of Blood's is gone. This damage doesn't even count the damage she has dealt with her W.

and fyi she just healed for 122 hp.

In conclusion

I would just like to say for the sake of your team, Never ever pick Blood over Hydra the 5Ad and shield will never equal Hydra's passive strength I honestly can not think of even 1 reason why to take it over hydra. If the enemy team's focusing on you, don't be the one to engage the fight let your tanks do that, after all its their job to start the fight, It's your job to finish it.

Ps: Yes this goes for you Ranged champions too.... Bc guess what? you don't get the wave clear but you still can use the active. Would you rather have a shield or 2 basic attacks Mr adc?

To those who want to bash me because I'm still considered new, It doen't take 10,000 wins to make a good item build. It takes doing the math on the items.

example would be which would be better early game IE or Botrk, You have to factor in the AD of both items AS of botrk, Crit chance of IE, passive 8% of botrk to figure out which has the better burst damage, compile all of this with the number of attacks you would get with both over X time to = damage/burst/and peel. And you don't need to play a single game to figure that out. Its simply numbers.

Again I simply argue the point of my numbers, number's don't lie. And fine hydra doesn't reset your aa it gives you one then in between auto attacks which is could be argued as the same thing since in the time it would normally take you to make 2 auto attack you get 3, or in the time of 1 auto attack you get 2.

My math is still valid, it doesn't matter how many games I've played 2+2 will always = 4 dumb dumb

My ramblings simply show that hydra is better than blood thristier in almost every way.

You my dear friend are targeting me simply on the basis that I've had less than 300 games. To the exstent if I came on the forums and Said Ashe was a ranged champion you would say I was wrong that she was melee and that you were right because I have not played 2k games.

Just because a person hasn't played as much as you does not mean they are automatically wrong about what they are saying.

lol not even 200 wins under your belt.

waits patiently for the day you notice the flaws in your own logic (atleast for the hydra on ranged champions logic)

Stopped reading when he used Ashe as a comparison for Tiamat.. It's melee only

On a squishy ass marksman? the shield.

I used ash as an example bc it was the first champion i saw that was ad, and you have to be in the hydra's range for it to work. No I'm not saying buy the hydra on a ranged champion really I was just saying its better than blood on a ranged champion I'd rather buy a 2nd IE before buying blood
