Make it your first goal in that game is to put so much pressure on the enemy top laner that they just want to sit in the fountain. If it's Jax vs Malphite, start with flask and 3 mana potions and throw rocks at him until he just stops trying to cs.

Tryndamere vs Olaf? Dominate him by slapping him with true damage whenever he wants to get fury up.

Volibear vs Riven? Kill her once. Then when she keeps building damage, kill her again and again. Then turret dive her and live. Dance over the dead carcass and then kill the jungler trying to clean up.

It's a mind game. If the enemy jungler sees someone getting stomped way up in top lane and have died more than once, they will more often than not prioritize mid or bot lane and just leave you high and dry. The moment you hear them /all and complain, you turn it up a notch. Get suicidal. Dive them when they teleport back into lane and put them right back on the fountain. Forsake cs just to keep them out of the game as long as possible. The lower their morale, the more likely their team is to mute them if they complain, or at best, start flaming back at them. Chaos will ensue.

And then you just pop mid and get a kill and then it hits the fan about them not pinging mia or whatever.

Cruel? Yes. Effective? Seems to work in everything gold and lower.

Don't forget the occasional seemingly innocent 'lol' or '?' in /all if they misplay and die.

It does wonders for their rage.

Never underestimate the power of a minor, innocent question mark. That thing inspires rage like little else.

I once had that exactly situation happen to me as rammus. They juggled aggro poorly, and their one source of damage, jinx, got aggro first and died fast. Then it was me kiting around 3 melees trying desperately to kill me. It was sad.

It's a delicate balance you have to play, but it works while not smurfing. The difference is smart players will do this while they are ahead and play defensively while behind, and idiots will do the above strategy at all times.

Only in match ups you know its impossible for you to lose bar a meteor crashing on your ISP. Like Pantheon vs Fiora or some shizz.

This is more suited to those who understand powerspikes for nearly every champion conceived for a lane. What items that champ needs, how much gold will they have to sit on before going back and buying a piece, how much or little a component will be effective etc

That sounds exactly the way Faker plays. The counter to being counter picked: jungler ganking while you're ignorantly overextending.

It doesn't strictly affect top lane. This strategy is well known amongst all lanes.

This is why i hate top. It's more psychology than league.

my brother once said he kept trading softly, getting outraded on occasion to his laner, then when his laner tried to finally kill him, he used everything and blew him up. he got a 'wtf'
