Need help carrying with adc

I look up guides, and know the build orders, abilities and how to use them. What I suffer from are the intangibles. How to win lane when my support isn't making easy plays for me. How to deal with a dive heavy team that is fed. How to ward efficiently without getting caught out, How to win the game when ahead, how to play from behind. I feel like Every game is winnable but im just not doing all the things you don't find in character specific guides. Please help, I don't feel like im improving anymore

how to win lane when your support isn't making plays? depends on the champ you're playing, sometimes just focusing on cs is good enough or maybe you're playing a lane bully in which case you should be relentlessly aggressive.

Dive heavy team? Position yourself very far behind your tanks, like a full screen length behind. If they want to engage they have to engage on your frontline or suicide dive to get you.

How to ward? wait till you have vision of enemy team somewhere else on the map and ward where they aren't. Or go with a buddy. Or just don't ward - if it's super late game you have no vision and their whole team is MIA, don't. Just follow your team around.

If you're ahead? force every objective you can

Behind? teamfights have the best comeback potential.

Start from scratch: Pick an adc. Any one is good. I prefer Cait.

Communicate with your support, and check their build. Do they have wards? If yes, tell them where to place it. Playing a few games as a support should teach you first-hand optimal ward placements. If no, drop your trinket there. Cait is good as she can drop traps there to avoid insta ganks. Also, drop a pink ward when you need to. Vision is important. As an adc, you should know this.

Are you leading in lane? Great! Push and take 1st turret. From there, back off! You put yourself in the danger zone. Farm at your jungle, let minions push back towards your turret, and freeze the lane there. You can move if you need to by pushing lane, then going ahead to assist mid/take drag/etc.

Are you behind? Here's where your team has to help. Place tighter vision around bot lane to avoid more pressure coming for you, and freeze lane close to your turret. Whoever is there will be horribly overextended, leaving it an easier picking for your jungler. If you need to, get more defensive/sustain items. Personally, I love BT and have it with every adc I build. So farm jungle and creeps. Don't push AT ALL, and move away from lane only when you're catching up in items/gold.

Need safer champs? Caitlyn , Ashe , Kalista are your picks. No need for slick jukes if you can see what's coming far ahead.

Finally, work on your farming. You should NEVER be behind in farm. If you can hit minions, you can farm.
