I have heard that the reason people are getting Nashor's on Azir is because instead of maxing W (which gives more attack speed than his old passive, and wouldn't change his nashor less build) people are maxing Q and using Nashor's to make up for the lack of attack speed. If this is the reason why max Q first? If this isn't the reason why get Nashor's and change his previous build path?
Q is more guaranteed damage than W through AS. Also look at any ADC for the reason why early AS isn't that good. If you have no damage you aren't accomplishing anything by having AS with nothing to back it up. Its why typcially you have ADCs build a damage item first and then build As after they start to hurt. This is because their abilities don't scale with AS and neither does Azir. You trade doing low damage 3 times for medium damage 1 time plus scaling on your other abilities to help.
I can't talk to the actual build and how effective it is because I'm not an Azir player, but it still holds true as to why many champs don't rush AS. the only ones I can think that do are Tryn and thats not so much the AS, but the Statikk that helps him more just like Yas.
