Late game Lee Sin

I'm playing a lot of Lee Sin(in the jungle) and I do quite well in the early game. My mechanics are pretty good, not the best, but without a doubt I am proficient. Early game I am great, but then I start to fall apart as the team-fights begin, and I really think it has more to do with my build, not the items, but how I apply it.

I see people on how-to Lee videos building Lee tanky and one hitting people, taking out several members of the enemy team then getting back like it's nothing. However, when I try it, I'm more of a nuisance than any real threat; going in, delivering my full combo, and at the end they aren't even down to half health. So, I build AD and I start to get a small amount of damage but I'm fragile, so I dive in, take out someone, then get jumped and die, so it's a one-for-one.(best case scenario)

Basically, why is my tanky Lee doing no damage while streams and youtube vids seem show them picking off enemy champs like it's going out of style.

Tanky lee is Tanky, he wont do damage, Usuallly you only need to build 1 (or 2 ) tanky items on lee and build more damage, Randuins is a good choice for him as well as hex drinker for those pesky magic users since you get both ad and mr from it then everything else you build should be damage and boots ( + a sightstone if you need to ward jump).

Normally, I try to rush a hydra first for waveclear, I dont tend to build last whisper( I dont really see the potential in it) I instead build black cleaver because it provides health and armor pen, I also build randiuns too, now i have yet to build frozen mallet on lee, i usually go to hexdrinker if the team has mr and if they dont i build another tank item

Hello new Lee player! I'm a Lee main, and I've got some helpful advice. What you're experiencing is COMPLETELY normal. In fact, Lee's late game is what allows Lee to be so strong. First off, your early game is amazing with ganks galore and a ton of early base damage. As the game continues, it is your job to control the map. This means taking out strong/fed opponents and snowballing lanes to the best of your ability. However, when late game comes you have to take on a new role. You have a choice on your role depending on your build;

Tank: Dive into team fights and deliver the enemy carry to your team's doormat

Damage: Versatile Assassin that leaps into the enemy carry, eliminates the threat in .5 seconds and escapes without even breaking a sweat.

Now whatever suits your playstyle and ability you can do, however I prefer to base it on how well the team is doing and the composition and synergy of the team itself. Be that as it may, if the enemy has a 11/2 Zed dicing up my homies then I'll go tank.

Typically for damage items, you're gonna want to go with these:

High Priority: item 3074 item 3078 item 3035

These items are crazy good on Lee. With Sheen procs and AOE damage to feed a small african villiage for an entire year, you should have no problem melting down those pesky plumbers

Considerable: item 3022 item 3156 item 3071

These guys are pretty nifty. The HP from Frozen Mallet and the MR in the Maw of Malmordius helps out a ton when dealing with APCs. Now if there was enough space in the high priority spot I would have added Black Cleaver, because it works so well with him. The Armor shred, the HP, it's like a Christmas

Honerable Mentions: item 3139 item 3153 item 3072

These guys are decent on Lee, so don't completely overlook them, but they won't be as effective as the latter

Now for tank, you're gonna see a lot of familiar faces:

High Priority: item 3143 item 3065 item 3068

These items typically help with sticking potential, bonus lifesteal/spellvamp on W (from Spirit Visage) and DPS magic damage. Very helpful and effective on Lee

Considerable: item 3083 item 3075 item 3026

This set consists of very over-the-top counter items for emergencies. Thornmail should be built whenever you face an auto attack-based carry such as Tryndamere, Master Yi, Udyr, Vayne, etc. Warmogs and Spirit Visage are a great combo that allow you to regen MASSIVE amounts of health in a shor period of time.

Tank doesn't have any honorable mentions, because no other tank items synergize with Lee as well as these

Lastly, here are some common-every-game things to keep in mind:

item 3707

This is your best friend. Whether I'm tank Lee, or Damage Lee, I always pick this up. This allows you to not only stick to opponents, but gain armor penetration and AD. Meaning that even if you are tanky, you can still do lots of damage.

item 2049

This is an absolute must-have item on Lee. Not only does it provide succulent vision of the map, but placing it over a wall and casting W on it can get you out of a lot of sticky situations that anybody else would have died in.

And as a final tip, always remember to take advantage of your energy regen passive in teamfights so your spell costs don't hinder you as much. Have fun with my favorite champ and see you out on the Rift!

You are probably executing your combo incorrectly, or you are behind in the game.

Lee Sin is a strong early game champion because of his mobility and amazing base damages, if you can't abuse this fact you will take 999 damage and deal 0 late game.

Lee Sin scales very well with levels, so try to get ahead in levels by having successful ganks so you have an excuse to tax or stick in jungle and don't gank near hopeless lanes.

His general combo is --> E>AA>AA>E>Q>AA>AA>R>Q
