Need Help Finding a Go-To ADC

For me to truly learn a role, I've realized my best bet is to find one champion I can really latch onto. As an example, I used to roll with Janna whenever I was forced to support. Chose her because I'd heard about how strong a pick she was. I lost every game I played with her, though. 0-5. Then I tried Sona, who many consider the "safest" pick, especially for someone inexperienced. My win rate with her is still just a measly 30% in 23 matches, but she makes supporting so easy that learning on the job became a lot easier. Still, she could only take me so far, and it wasn't until I started playing Nautilus that I finally felt at home in the role. From there I was able to jump also to Leona, as her play-style is similar. (Nautilus is basically if Thresh and Leona had a baby, after all) Mainly kept to Nautilus, but that's just because I find spamming one champion is a fast and easy way to learn them, since you get to see them in various situations and it helps you learn exactly what they can and can't do.

For top, mid, and jungle, I have similar stories. Except I've yet to discover that one ADC I gel with. My friend suggested Caitlyn as a learner champ, given her range and escapes, and with her I can at least not feed and pick up the occasional kill when my support sets me up, but she's to ADC what Sona was to support, just another stepping stone. I just worry I will never find that better option to move onto. Kog'Maw just felt like a walking dumpster fire in my hands the one time I drew him in ARAM. Tristana and Sivir, at best, are there with Caitlyn as champions I can possibly do a respectable job with. Ashe is simple to play, but too weak. Corki didn't work out much better than Kog'Maw the times I tried him out. Ezreal and Lucian felt useless in my hands even against bots.

So that leaves Draven, Graves, Jinx, Kalista, Miss Fortune, Quinn, Twitch, Urgot, Varus, and Vayne. Draven and Kalista seem to require much higher skill and much better mechanics than I have. Jinx, I tried once or twice when she was free, and had fun with in URF, but... I don't know. Miss Fortune sounds like she'd just be Ashe 2.0 at best, just one of those ADCs that's not too viable right now. Quinn and Twitch at least don't sound like they'd fit my play-style. Maybe Urgot, as strange as that sounds, since he appears to be as close as an ADC gets to a "tank." Maybe Varus, since I do like his CC. Maybe Vayne, since she has escapability, similar to Caitlyn. And Graves... I just really don't know whether I'd like him or not. So, who would you all advise I give a go?

If you want a tanky ADC, go for Graves. His passive gives him bonus armor and MR

You left Lucian off your list. I would recommend him. Very strong early and midgame, mobile enough that you should be able to avoid assassins and cc tanks, and great waveclear/turret taking power.

So I guess Draven and Graves it is.

Varus baby. I've always loved varus and i feel he's really easy to pick up and master. or your playstyle which seems to be on the tankier side i might suggest graves as a pick instead however.

Just tried Graves for the first time in co-op. See that below? That is me. I didn't even have my ADC runes on. Just my basic AD rune page I use for most any AD champ I play with AD Quints and Marks, Armor Yellows, and Scaling MR Blues. For the first time, I felt deadly, even from the beginning. A lot of the ADCs I've played seem to be lackluster early game in the damage department, but with Graves my pokes all felt like gut punches. And, even with all this talk about how bursty he is, I was still in awe of it. It got me thinking I might like Vayne, since they both seem to have the burst necessary to get one kill, then immediately snowball that into more. My first kill was a tower dive on the support. Had both E and ignite up, with minions at turret, and so I E'd closer, laid down the ignite, and finished him off with one shot as soon as I was out of turret range. You don't know how satisfying that felt, even against bots. Oh, and I also underestimated his passive a little. Later on I tower dived again, this time at inhibitor turret, walking the entire length of the turret's range, and it just barely killed me after I finished off the bot I was after.

Finished 18/1/11. I don't expect I'll be replicating that in normal matches right off the bat, but I enjoy playing with him so much that I'm going to work at it until I am. To think that when I was writing up a comprehensive personal champion tier list for each role, I almost didn't even include Graves as a possible ADC. He didn't sound like my style, for some odd reason.

You seem like you enjoy having a strong presence, like Naut and Leona, so Draven, (or Draaaaaaaven) may be good. You zone people by walking around with two axes spinning and any hard cc on your opponent means a decent trade or even a death for them. Even trading a life for a life is a win because of adoration stacks.
