Help with playing Yasuo?

Hey guys, I REALLY need some help with Yasuo. I bought him about 2 days ago and I know usually it isn't easy to get used to a champion so quickly, especially since Yasuo is a difficult one to play, but I am sucking total dick with him and I need tips/hints/help with him to get better. And I mean I have been sucking TOTAL dick. Every PvP game I've played I've gone negative by far, and my average would be around 4 kills and 11 deaths, I'm guessing. I know you're supposed to play bot matches when you're playing a new champ, and I did that MANY times. I played at least 15 intermediate bot matches, and I did wonderful in all of them. My average in that would be like 14/4

So obviously since I did amazing in the bot matches, I thought my skill would carry over to PvP.

Very wrong. I'm absolutely terrible in PvP. I think the reason is because bots are so predictable. I know how to build him fine (item 3087 ,item 3153 ,item 3143 oritem 3026 ,etc) but I just can't seem to play him correctly. Normally I go top, but I've also tried going mid. And both lanes, I do the same thing, and that is I hug the turret and farm minions until I have enough gold to start building the Shiv and the other core items I need, and even when I do that I still find myself getting caught in ganks and turret rushes and I get fucked up

After I get my items, I usually either push or team fight. And even in team fights, there isn't much I can do. I always end up being the target and I can't defend myself enough or get away before I get killed

So I'm wondering what some really useful tips are for playing Yasuo. Who are the champions that threaten him most? What can I do to improve that way I play him? And the reason I so badly want to know this is because I spent like two weeks saving up for him and I don't want all that time and effort to go to waste, and plus I really like Yasuo as a champ and I want to get better with him

Well you don't know how to build him fine. You have no (25?) damage with those 4 items, you need an i.e. The bonus crit damage it gives helps a lot when you get double crit chance. (it also gives you more crit chance. (shiv -> i.e. -> whatever)

In lane, once you hit 6 dash to a melee minion, dash to a caster minion, dash to your enemy and press q while dashing. (if your knockup is ready) this will make you spin in a circle ensuring that you hit your enemy. It's way easier than trying to land the skillshot tornado. This has the added effect of making your dash do more dmg because it gains increased damage when you combo it.

In teamfights you have 2 options. If you are super fed you can dash into them, press q while dashing, hit a few of them, then ult. Sit in the back and if you get a good tornado or your teammates get a good knockup then ult.

After ulting dash around, throw windwall, q shit, see if maybe you can survive or whatever.

Also you have a pretty strong lvl 2 compared to most mids, so dont play so passive in the very beginning (if you are mid at least i don't know yasuo matchups in top but i imagine it's pretty ugly for him.)

Usually on Yasuo I build item 3087 into item 3031 and I will choose between item 3153 item 3072 or item 3035 depending on the enemy team comp. item 3153 for high hp, item 3035 + item 2140 if they start building armor, and item 3072 if they have no defenses. I personally like item 3072 better than item 3153 because the q charges life steals off ALL minions and champions and gives you a massive shield, and also gives you a better crit.

In lane, depending on your match up, you can either max E or max Q or just switch between Q and E. Because of the new patch, each rank in Yasuo Q only gives 20 extra base damage, where as each rank gives E extra base damage, -1 second target reset, and -0.1 cooldown.

For example, if you happened to be against a Darius top lane, you will level Q first because dashing into Darius is stupid. If you play against nidalee, leveling some points into e will give you extra mobility to dodge spears and counter attack. (At max E rank, your E can do 225 base magic damage, and 100 base physical damage on Q)

Finally in lane, remember, you dont have mana, and most of your laners do! You have the late game and they don't. Play safe and farm up, use Q whenever they come in to cs to harass.

Basic harass combo (when tornado is up): E on melee minion, E on caster minion, E on enemy champion + Q, auto attack, E back to retreat. Assuming you maxed E first, the combo takes 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + (0.2) aa time + 0.1 = 0.6 seconds to complete. 225 magic damage + aa + q + statik shivv damage in 0.6 seconds is pretty impressive imo :)

Always sneak in an E and Q when you land your knock up to ult, you knock up for 1 second, and you do a lot of damage in 1 second. Take your time and ult the very last second for maximize burst damage!

Make sure to be careful against skilled mid laners. Some mid champs have skillshots. Try to predict when they'll send their skillshot and cast wind wall. ETC: Ahri
