This was so amazing that I just had to post about it

This game I was in, none of my teammates or the enemy players were toxic at all. This is seriously like the second or third game like this that I've ever been in, and it's great that even though a majority of the LoL community is toxic/salty/douchey, there are people that play it that aren't like that at all. My teammates didn't bitch at each other when others were doing bad (including me, I had a pretty bad start because Darius is insane). Not a word was said about it. I was also playing Riven and none of the enemies bitched about her being broken, OP, etc., we all just played the game like civilized people

So if any of the people I just played with read this, thank you guys so much. You really have no idea how much that means to me and it was truly a pleasure playing with you guys. You're all seriously the greatest people I've met on League, and please feel free to send me a friend request (since I forgot to do that when the game was over) because I'd definitely love to play with you guys again

I've been slowly losing hope in the community for a while now, but you guys picked it up a bit. Thanks again <3

Very true! I think there's just less toxic people in team builder usually for some reason. I normally only play blind pick and end up having to deal with at least one or two jerks every game, but I see a lot less of them in team builder, so I might just have to start playing that more instead

Yea that's why I play team builder.

I'm a weirdo who plays botlane. (You know cuz they're always looking for botlanes)

Team builder is especially fun full of friends! :) More friends = Less Toxicity.

Riot is currently making a team builder draft. Let's see how that goes. I'll play it when it comes out! Hopefully if it does good, riot MIGHT make a team builder ranked. :)

Same here! I'm a support main but I picked up Lucian when PROJECT happened and I've never had to wait more than 15 seconds to find a game. Everyone's super friendly too. I can't wait to finally try Ranked next year if they're bringing Team Builder to it.

Record 100 games and all the chat logs, out of everyone that types anything beyond gg (those who mute everything are of course, non factors)

Out of everyone who decided to type, see how many of them were nothing but positive, shining examples of the goodness of human nature.

It's not indicative of innate goodness.

You can do that with the news. Count how many important positive things are reported in relation to how many negative things that are reported and you will essentially have the same thing.

It's not because humans are innately negative, it's that good performances don't stick in people's minds. When someone plays badly they are quicker to berate them through chat. When someone is playing well people are less inclined to chat or comment about it. They might say gj, or wp when you play well but never as elaborate as "you should be gunned down like the degenerate you are" if you were playing badly or feeding. Anger is more impactful than pleasure. Less people say, "hey, you're amazing at this game, want to get honoured?" No one does that in chat. If they think you played really well most will probably just not comment about it and maybe honour you.

Bad things are more interesting than good things.

On a slightly off topic note: This is why you hardly have threads praising Riot for all the goods things that they have done. • Free skins: Captain Gangplank and when servers open. • Amazing events. • Not being as stupid and greedy as every other game developing company in the industry. (i.e. EA)

They give out way more free stuff than every other major game developing company that has games as big as League of Legends.

Riot's amazing but no one talks about it because it's not as interesting or as emotionally impactful as all the bad things Riot has done.

I am not going to do anything, I have been having a great time the last few years playing League.

People are only going to remember that 1 game with a jackass but forget the other 10 where nothing happened.

To be fair, if 5% of the playerbase is toxic, that's 1 in 20, which is one person every 2.2 games* that will probably be toxic. Hopefully Riot's continuing emphasis on reforming/removing such players will make that number go down even further.

* Not one person every 2 games, because you are one of the ten people that play every game, but you aren't toxic. Right? RIGHT?!

LOL I would argue over half of the community is toxic, and at least one third are absolute shit. So you combine those two and the majority of your games have at least one troll/toxic or a complete moron. Breaks my heart.

Strange. Maybe you just have good luck. I have to deal with toxic players in almost every single game I get into, but like I said in another comment, I usually play blind pick, and when I had these great players I was in team builder, so there might just be the most toxicity in blind

Only get toxic players like once every 10 games. Idk what the fuck you're playing lol Even then, they're just sarcastic. But who knows maybe I just don't care wat people say.

Well, kinda true, but trolls aren't always the cause of toxicity. Most of the time it's just people that think they're better than everyone else flaming others because they aren't doing as well as they want them to

But that's the thing, usually when someone goes 0-5 in a game I'm in, the toxicity immediately starts and no constructive criticism is given to them at all, it's just flaming. I've rarely seen a teammate doing bad, and another teammate calmly gives them tips about what they could do better, and instead just bitches at them and says they suck, they're bronze, they should uninstall, etc.

Meh, the vast majority of toxicity I see is from people being mad about teammates that go 1-9 and continue to try to 1v3 and chase the tank into the enemy jungle.

1/3 of my games are like that, it's great. People don't instantly over react and you can tell they aren't trolling because they are actually trying to play well.

I've found that if you play mediator, this actually happens a lot. Someone starts raging? Kindly remind them that it doesn't help. If the person they were raging on did do something stupid, inform them. Also keep you're team in check if they start gloating, because if you don't the second they make a mistake and the enemy capitalizes on it. They won't shut up about it, and it'll lead to your teammate tilting. I'll say something most will disagree with, but MOST people who play LOL are nice. Only thing is people don't try to keep it that way. Meaning if someone is raging they either ignore it, or rage back. Which leads to more raging.

depends on your definition of toxic. From your description of the game there was a lot of toxicity from my perspective because feeding lane in a high diamond game is a good way to waste 20 minutes of everyone's time

My definition of toxic is being a jerk and taking the fun out of the game because of it. So if you're feeding on PURPOSE, then yeah, I consider that toxic. But everyone has bad games, so why flame others for it? Players in the LCS even have bad games. Especially in normals, which is what I pretty much only play, and it doesn't make sense. If you see someone doing bad, give them tips on what they could do to play better, don't tell them they're shit and they suck and whatever, because that doesn't help at all

rarely do I ever see either of those extreme cases happen. It's always the guy that dies once in lane then just says "fuck it" and decides to rage tilt feed by playing extremely poorly, and if you say anything they just say muted or reported and you waste 20 minutes. So they aren't being "toxic" technically by your definition but in mine they certainly are ruining my experience.

I once had an ARAM game as Teemo that lasted an hour with over 100+ kills on each side. It was the most fun I've had in a while, and I mean the communication between teams. I don't remember everything, but one that I loved was "FEAR THE RABADON VEIGER" and so on (you can bet there were short jokes). It was nice even though we lost.
