Tunnel vision....help =(

Finding that I have a bad case of tunnel vision. I miss easy things like counter ganks, and obvious times to push lanes, ignore fleeing enemies, and such. Or just make bad choices trying to kill or finish someone off by diving towers when I shouldn't.

What have you done that has helped you reduce your 'tunnel vision'?

everytime you perform an action in lane, perform an action to adjust yourself to the current situation Farm a creep: check builds Farm a creep: Check peoples position Farm a creep: where's your jungler Farm a creep: is their jungler on the map? which side Farm a creep: whats their laner doing? Farm a creep: whats my wards timer at Farm a creep: Am i susceptible to being ganked? no more creep: am i too far in lane, can i roam to gank, do i have time? just practice looking at more than your target.

I think the best thing is just working on your overall mentality and forming good habits. I find i tend to tunnel more when i am too focused on killing my lane opponent, when im cocky, or when i am on a tilt.

I don't really look at my own screen half the time, after getting to know all of the maps perfectly except Crystal Scar I just know exactly where I am when I look at the map.

Play a lot of Normals and just try watching the map most of the time or look at it every 5 seconds or something. There's a lot of ways people reduce tunnel visioning.

To be completely honest with you, I started becoming aware (when I was new) of position by playing champs with global ults. I played a lot of gangplank and was always looking for an opportunity to drop it on someone. Another tip would be to just buy wards and toss em (the pink one). You'll find yourself checking to see if it's still there on the map. A good exercise to do if you don't like either of those ideas is to just check the map after every wave clear... just kinda glance down at it. If you're going to lane look around for a bit. Or... you could play a jungler. It is necessity to look at lanes and see who's needing a gank and who doesn't.
